Most American Christians think persecution is something that happens only in far-off places. Many don’t realize that Christians in Mexico—right next door—can face persecution. The group of Pakistani Christian men knew the risks when they entered an Islamic festival where fanatical Muslim leaders preached jihad and attendees renewed their religious zeal. Two Christian youth organizations have inked an agreement to work together. American Heritage GirlsTrail Life USA and American Heritage Girls have signed a Memorandum of Ministry Alliance during the A.H.G. annual convention underway in Anderson, Indiana. A Washington Post article tells the story of a tiny Baptist church near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The congregation had dwindled to just fifteen members. With bills stacking up, Deacon Larry Montgomery told the congregation, “We’re just not going to make it.” Montgomery then told the people of Scenic Drive Baptist that there was a congregation who might want to buy the church. Last night my small group from church met together, as we do weekly. We spend time together, catch up on each other’s lives, study the Bible and pray.
