Nooma 15 really bothered me, and it should bother you, too. I get Bell’s argument, but, it just doesn’t work. Not only is the history flaky, but you aren’t the gospel, either. An examination and response to Rob Bell‘s odd claims about the nature of the gospel.
02/09/13   Western culture as a whole, and the United States in particular, has had a tremendous amount of light from God, and experienced many blessings from His hand. Yet, this culture seems intent upon continuing on its path to self-destruction. A few thoughts from the Christian worldview (while we are still allowed, we would hope, to express them).
Apostasy is spreading throughout Christian churches that were once staunchly fundamental. These apostate churches are suppressing the gospel that they once declared faithfully and openly. Many Christians may be blissfully unaware of a steady but powerful movement that is radically deconstructing and re-interpreting the Christian faith into something that isn’t Christianity.
