What is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy? It is another name for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It is a painful condition that results from over stimulated nerves of the sympathetic nervous system, in a specific part of the body, like the arm or the leg. The causes for RSD are still unknown but there are studies constantly being undertaken to determine its specific cause. RSD can be treated effectively only if it is diagnosed properly within the first few months of symptoms occurring.
