A chaplain in the US Army was recently cleared of religious discrimination in a case significant for religious liberty. Chaplain Scott Squires and his assistant Kacie Griffin were facing dereliction of duty charges for refusing to allow a same-sex couple from joining in a military-sponsored retreat.
According to US Army regulation, a chaplain is required to follow the rules and tenets of the sponsoring religious denomination.
