Charles T. Russell needed to change the time of the “beginning of the period of trouble” from 1874 to 1915. Since he got 1874 from the measurements of the interior passage ways of the Great Pyramid of Giseh, he needed to change those measurements making the pyramid grow to suit his false chronology.

The Watchtower has always celebrated Christmas since it’s beginnings with Charles Taze Russell and then with Rutherford. They did not have any problems with it not being the date of Christ’s birth as shown in these 9 scans. Eventualy Judge Rutherford cancelled the celebration along with numerous doctrinal changes because he blamed the clergy and the government for sending him behind bars around 1919.
