Since its launch 32 years ago, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has taken incredible pictures of the universe. Recently, with the aid of a phenomenon called gravitational lensing, the Hubble took a remarkable picture of a star called Earendel. Astronomers say it is the farthest individual star to date. Earendel is unique because Hubble was able to observe the star independently beca… More… …read more Source: icr.org

By Ken Ham I’ve used many words to describe evolution over the years, but I think I might have a new one which describes a recent fossil find: “disarming.” This pair of fossils (one of an adult specimen and one of a juvenile) of Nagini mazonense, a small snake-like animal (technically a molgophid recumbirostran) that supposedly lived about 308 million years ago, was discovered in the Francis Creek Shale of Illinois. The adult fossil specimen measures about 4 inches long (10 cm), and although it has reduced hind limbs, it has no pelvic girdle to support those limbs or front [More]
Most people would be surprised to know that, until recently, the human genome was not entirely sequenced where all the DNA letters it contains are deciphered. With the use of new DNA sequencing technologies, a complete version of the human genome has now been produced (except for the Y chromosome).1 The startling discovery surrounding this novel achievement is that the previously unsequenced regions were once thought to be mostly evolu… More… …read more Source: icr.org
By Ken Ham The more scientists dive into the details of what God has made, the more they discover how complex, intricate, and amazing creation really is (even if they refuse to recognize the One who made it all!). I was reminded of this recently by a news item reporting on surprising findings regarding DNA “first responders.” God gave DNA a proofreading system to catch mistakes and “dedicated DNA repair machinery that routinely fixes mistakes.” But how do they work? DNA is a complex language system, built off four bases, that provides the information to build each living thing. Mind-boggling [More]

The world is alive with beetles! A 2022 study by 17 biologists states, “Beetles constitute the most biodiverse animal order with over 380 000 described species and possibly several million more yet unnamed.”1 Why are there so many types of beetles? They form a large part of the world’s biodiversity critical for decomposition (e.g. forests) and feed on problem insects such as caterpillars a… More… …read more Source: icr.org

Conventional geologists are still baffled by the Cambrian Explosion. Some try to deny that it was sudden,1 but most admit that Cambrian rocks record the sudden appearance of fossils from nearly every animal group. And the glaring lack of ancestors in rocks below the Cambrian increases the mystery.1 A new study of the Chengjiang Biota in Yunnan Province, China, tries to solve the mystery. The authors claim that… More… …read more Source: icr.org

By Ken Ham Should we be concerned about “complex genetic tests” being offered to parents ahead of in vitro fertilization (IVF, a popular fertility treatment that involves implanting embryos—read: babies—in a womb). And if so, why? Well, that depends on your worldview. An editorial recently appeared in Nature.com titled, “The alarming rise of complex genetic testing in human embryo selection.” In this article, the author raises the alarm regarding The emergence of companies that offer prospective parents complex genetic tests on embryos . . . The companies claim to be able to predict the risk of many common diseases — [More]

In 1988 a fossil jaw was discovered by paleontologists in San Diego County, California. Decades later the scientists determined it belonged to a relatively unknown carnivore species of the machaeroidines (saber-toothed, placental mammals). The creature was named Diegoaelurus vanvalkenburghae and was about the size of a bobcat with teeth like slicing blades. So far, only 14 specimens belonging to the machaeroidines have been found.1More… …read more Source: icr.org
Although we see much beauty in God’s creation, we cannot help but see Earth as a perfect world gone wrong. Conditions such as cancer, COVID, and carnivores reminds us this world has been cursed due to the sin of our first parents. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat… More… …read more Source: icr.org

Evidence continues to accumulate that the Genesis Flood caused an ice age lasting hundreds of years.1 Creation scientists maintain there are two significant climate factors needed for an ice age. First, warm oceans are needed to increase evaporation, which ultimately generates extra rain near the equator and heavy snowfall in higher latitudes. Such conditions would build ice sheets atop the continents. Second, Earth&rsqu… More… …read more Source: icr.org
