A woman in Tennessee gave birth recently to Emma, a baby girl who was frozen as an embryo in 1992—when the woman who gave birth to her was just a toddler. Reportedly Emma is now a record-holder for the “longest-frozen embryo to come to birth.”
Dr. Jeffery Keenan, the director of National Embryo Donation Center, a faith-based center that helps people adopt embryos, said, “We hope this story is a clarion call to all couples who have embryos in long-term storage to consider this life-affirming option for their embryos.”
