UK: Red Cross dismisses 20-year volunteer over same-sex ‘marriage’ stance

After faithfully serving the British Red Cross as a volunteer for two decades, the organization founded on Christian values dismissed 71-year-old Bryan Barkley because he expressed his biblical view about same-sex “marriage” at an unrelated event he attended earlier in the year in March.

But despite its Christian roots, the Red Cross no longer reflects biblical views when it comes to the biblical definition of marriage as only being between one man and one woman. In fact, Red Cross officials clearly expressed to Barkley that his beliefs about marriage are “incompatible” with those held by the organization and that they run contrary to its “fundamental principles and values.”
