It was scientists (many of them) who originally rejected Darwinism. Watch the full episode at http://creation.com/cml5-07
Many people think that Charles Darwin first thought of the idea of natural selection. However, others prior to Darwin described the concept, although they sometimes used slightly different terminology. For instance, Carl Linnaeus, the creationist ‘father of taxonomy’ wrote of a ‘struggle for survival’ in nature. Similarly, James Hutton wrote about the concept of natural selection. Probably the most influential character was Edward Blyth, an English chemist and zoologist who wrote major articles on natural selection two decades before Darwin published the Origin of Species. Darwin differed in trying to use the concept of natural selection to promote the idea [More]
For more details visit: http://creation.com/creation-magazine-live-episode-42 Our knowledge biology, palaeontology and geology have been greatly advanced since Charles Darwin’s time. In this Creation magazine article by Don Batten, Richard and Calvin summarize the areas in which Darwin was wrong. However, although there are mountains of evidence against evolution today, many intelligent people still believe it. How did the peacock get such a spectacular tail? Bothered by this question, Charles Darwin wrote: ‘The sight of a feather in a peacock’s tail, whenever I gaze at it, makes me sick!’ Some time later, though, Darwin proposed his ‘theory of sexual selection’ which basically says that the peacock evolved its exotic tail to attract a mate, thus helping it produce more offspring and thus increasing the numbers with attractive tails. But a recent critical review, published in the prestigious journal Science, has pointed out that the theory has ‘fatal problems’ and ‘needs to be replaced’. However, other evolutionary [More]
Seminar by Dr. Robert Carter September 18, 2014 Cedar Park Christian School – Mountlake Terrace, WA. Description: Dr. Carter shares historical insight into Darwin’s past and the ideas that helped formulate the most widely embraced theory in science. Do Darwin’s theories on origins still stand up in today’s scientific world? If he were alive today, what would he think of the currently accepted evidence for his theory? In light of modern science, would he dare to invent an evolutionary theory of origins if he were still around now? Come find out What Darwin Didn’t Know. About the Speaker: Dr Carter [More]
Click here to listen. On this episode of ID the Future, hear from Casey Luskin as he talks about why science censorship is bad for education, even as Darwin activists such as Zack Kopplin lobby to repress critiques of Darwinian evolution. Casey explains how giving students full access to the best scientific information would help solve many problems facing science education today.
Throughout the 20th century, Darwin‘s picture of all organisms on Earth arising from a great Tree, with a single root, dominated biology. Within the past decade, however, a growing number of evolutionary biologists have announced that biology must “go beyond the doctrine of common descent” and that “the Tree of Life is dead.” What discoveries motivate these claims? What are the consequences for the origins debate? In his talk, Dr. Nelson will review the genomic data fracturing the Tree of Life at its base, and what this means for the future of biology. This video file is a 60 minute [More]
Why was Darwin‘s Origin of Species accepted so enthusiastically by theologians, scientists, and philosophers? How has science come to be dominated by materialism and naturalism? Charles Darwin has been lionized as the father of evolutionism, but deist and atheist philosophers had been setting the stage for rejecting God as Creator for many years before his book appeared. The ideas of Darwin and his predecessors continue to affect our thinking today, with huge consequences for our society. This presentation will trace some of the ideas leading to Darwin’s evolutionary thought and beyond, and how they’ve affected our culture.
On November 15th, 2012, Dr. Michael Behe gave a presentation at the University of Toronto to a stand only crowd. “How much of life does Darwin‘s theory explain? Most scientists believe it accounts for everything from the machinery of the cell to the history of life on earth. Darwin‘s proposed mechanism — random mutation and natural selection — has been accepted largely as a matter of faith and deduction or, at best, circumstantial evidence. Only now, thanks to genetics, does science allow us to seek direct evidence. The genomes of many organisms have been sequenced, and the machinery of the [More]
The frightful level of thought control in American academia A review of Free to Think: Why Scientific Integrity Matters by Dr Caroline Crocker Leafcutter Press, Southworth, WA, 2010 Reviewed by John Woodmorappe Dr Caroline Crocker, according to the opinions of many of her students, was an outstanding biology teacher. She was falsely accused of—horror of horrors—teaching creationism in class. Actually, all she had done was point out some of the weaknesses of evolutionary theory. For this, she was first demoted to teaching lab classes, and then—surprise—her contract was shortened and not renewed. Her dismissal for ‘teaching creationism’ was a kiss [More]
Phillip E. Johnson (author of Darwin on Trial) speaks on the real controversy over evolution and creation.
On this episode of ID the Future, David Klinghoffer talks about what it means to be a “Friend of Darwin.” In the case of Zack Kopplin, a 2012 recipient of the Friend of Darwin award, it means grossly misleading the public about science and education by equating skepticism of Darwinian evolution with biblical creationism. …read more
Did eyes evolve by Darwinian mechanisms? by Jerry Bergman The evolution of the eye has always been a dilemma for evolutionists from Darwin’s time to the present. Although Darwin, Richard Dawkins and other evolutionists have tried to explain how an eye could evolve, their solutions are clearly unsatisfactory. Many kinds of eyes exist, but no progression of eye designs from simple to complex can be produced in the natural or fossil world. Furthermore, the simplest ‘eye’, the eyespot, is not an eye but pigmented cells used for phototaxis; yet even it requires an enormously complex mechanism in order to function [More]
Listen Now Part 1 Part 3 On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin once again sits down with Dr. Frank Tipler, Professor of Mathematics and Physics at Tulane University and author of The Anthropic Cosmological Principle. Casey and Dr. Tipler continue their discussion on fine tuning in the universe, the multiverse, and the evidence for cosmic design.
Listen Now. Part 2 Part 3 On this episode of ID the Future, hear from Frank Tipler, Professor of Mathematics and Physics at Tulane University and author of The Anthropic Cosmological Principle. Dr. Tipler compares the perspectives of Einstein and Darwin and explains how the difference in their views applies to the debate over origins, Darwinian evolution, and intelligent design.
Listen Now On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin interviews Cecil Phillips, who tells the story of how he was expelled from Americans United for Separation of Church and State because he was a scientific skeptic of Darwinian evolution. Listen in as they discuss how the Darwin lobby seeks to marginalize Darwin skeptics by branding them with inaccurate labels and shutting down free speech.
Listen Now Part 1 Part 2 On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin and Dr. Frank Tipler continue their discussion of fine-tuning, the multiverse, and the cosmological evidence for design. Dr. Tipler argues that the initial conditions of the universe must have been “fine-tuned,” explaining that our universe was at its minimum entropy at its beginning. The probability of this condition occurring randomly is 1 in 1010^123 -staggeringly unlikely. Could the universe be “self-creating,” as Stephen Hawking has argued? Listen in as Tipler says the answer is “No.”
Listen Now On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin interviews Dr. Robert J. Marks, who has published two papers with William Dembski and another paper with Dr. Dembski and graduate student Winston Ewert. This was Dr. Marks’ first IDTF interview since Baylor University shut down his pro-ID Evolutionary Informatics Lab, now available at a third-party website, EvoInfo.org. Listen in as Dr. Marks discusses his research on probability and the problems it poses for Darwin‘s theory.
Listen Now On this episode of ID the Future, host David Boze speaks with Dr. Ben Carson, renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and Darwin doubter. Dr. Carson was invited to deliver the 2012 commencement speech at Emory University. Unfortunately, upon uncovering his non-allegiance to Darwinian ideology, 500 faculty members and students alike signed a letter in protest of his welcome. Listen in to hear Dr. Carson discuss this ill treatment and why his acute knowledge of the brain has led him to reject Darwinism. Dr. Ben Carson is the Director of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins. An internationally renowned [More]
By Ken Ham It amazes me that we still see secular scientists and others using the false idea that the appendix is a left-over (or vestige) of evolution.  The supposed functionless appendix is used as evidence for Darwinian evolution.  This false idea came up in some recent articles, such as in the popular UK newspaper/website The Daily Mail this month. Basically, Darwin said the appendix was a functionless evolutionary vestige. Because of that, scientists throughout most of the 20th century made light of evidence that the appendix really had a function.  Actually this is just one example of how a [More]

creation.com | The size and structure of coral reefs has been a strong argument for evolutionists ever since Darwin’s famous book on the subject. Since coral reefs are limited to shallow depths, evolutionists claim the presence of extinct coral reefs deep in the ocean and deep in the rock record are an inexplicable puzzle for young-earth beliefs, yet this is not nearly the challenge evolutionists make it out to be. We will analyze several important reef claims, including the buried “reefs” associated with oil in Alberta, the Capitan “reef” of Texas and New Mexico, the incredible “reef” thickness of Eniwetok [More]
