“Yes most pastors don’t lead a lavish lifestyle and can even be in a hard place financially as the article points out. If you attend a small church have you asked your pastor if his financial needs are being met? if not you may want to.”  Admin

A majority of evangelical pastors in the United States personally suffer from significant financial challenges as they serve in small churches — with most having little to no place to place to turn.

The latest research released by the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) last week shows that the financial hardships experienced by these Christian leaders are rarely a burden they share with their congregations — or any other brothers or sisters in Christ, for that matter.

In fact, it is reported that the majority of pastors in America do not confide with anyone outside of their household about the financial stress they are under — in large part because they are simply not familiar with the resources available to them for help.

NAE President Leith Anderson says that unlike many prominent evangelical leaders whose ministries enjoy great exposure across the nation, most pastors find themselves lacking sufficient resources beyond the weekly offering plate.

“The vast majority of pastors do not have their own radio or TV show, robust church staff, or megachurch attendance,” Anderson explains.

The Christian financial expert insists that these spiritual leaders serving their communities are frequently in a lonely and desperate place when it comes to meeting the material needs of their families.
