“Just an ill-conceived attack on home schooling. All other school shootings have been done by public school students, what does that say about public schools. You can be sure that these “tests” will be used to find problems of some sort so as to make home schooling in Connecticut more difficult which is what this is really all about. Have to get those kids into the gov. indoctrination centers i.e. public schools.”  Admin

A Connecticut commission has made recommendations that would restrict the freedom of homeschooling families.

The Sandy Hook Advisory Commission, created by Governor Dannel P. Malloy in the aftermath of the school shooting in Newton, Connecticut, claims that the Sandy Hook massacre occurred because Adam Lanza was homeschooled and his emotional problems went undetected. The commission recommends that homeschool students undergo mandatory mental health examinations to determine if they have emotional problems.

Dee Black with the Homeschool Legal Defense Association says Lanza was really a public school student studying at home. Although Lanza’s mother pulled him out of the classroom, he earned a degree from Newtown High School, an option not available to any homeschooled student.

“The point that we want to make is there is really no connection between homeschooling and violence in public schools,” the attorney says.

“When you look at the instances where we’ve had these tragedies in other public schools, they’ve always been committed by public school students. And in fact we know that Adam Lanza was at least somewhat a product of the public school system.”
