Multiple Republican-led states allege the Biden-Harris administration has impeded their efforts to prevent noncitizens from illegally voting, prompting lawsuits and legal battles.
Several Republican-led states are expressing outrage at the Biden-Harris administration, accusing it of obstructing efforts to prevent noncitizens from voting in upcoming elections. This conflict has intensified as the Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed lawsuits and allegedly refused to provide necessary data to states trying to purge noncitizens from their voter rolls.
In October, the DOJ sued Virginia, and in September, it targeted Alabama for their attempts to remove noncitizens too close to election dates. Additional lawsuits have been filed by Texas, Ohio, and Florida against the administration for allegedly hindering their efforts to verify voter eligibility.
