Mike Snavely of Mission: Imperative shares three questions that, once verified and answered by science, would increase his faith in the theory of evolution. He calls these the pillars of evolution.

Three Pillars of Evolution
1. Where did everything come from?
– Although most scientist realize it does not work, the Big Bang Theory is still taught as the origin of the universe. Scientists cannot explain, however, the source of the materials that exploded in the first place. No verifiable sequence of events can reproduce the Big Bang.

2. Where did complexity come from? Where did life come from?
– Evolutionary scientists will say that an accidental interaction of chemicals somehow occurred that resulted in life. But, they cannot explain how those events occurred. Evolution has no explanation for the manner in which non-living chemicals came alive, nor can scientists even confidently define life. Complexity alone does not indicate life, and there is no sequence of events to show non-living chemicals becoming living things.

3. How did things go from simple to complex?
– According to Darwinian evolution, creatures had the ability to adapt, and they did so by mutations. In the process of this, natural selection weeded out what could not be used. Scientific testing and experience, however, shows the vast majority of  mutations to be neutral or harmful. Also, natural selection would have eliminated the very mutations that evolution claims were being formed and passed on to the next generation.

How do we debunk these pillars of evolution?
– Darwinian evolution has never been observed. Although it has been tested many times over the course of one hundred fifty years, the tests have never been successful. Consequently, evolution is only a faith-based theory. Creation is also based in faith. We must guide our children to choose which faith they prefer.

– A faith in evolution is a faith in no creative supreme being. This results in no moral absolutes or standards, and therefore those who accept this faith may live as they please.

– A faith in creation is a faith in the Creator. Living things point to a design, but a design points a designer. If God is our designer and creator, then we must live His way.
