“Basically, all charges have been dropped so Kent should be released in the near future.” Admin
The U.S. district judge that has been overseeing the case of an imprisoned creation science evangelist has granted a motion for acquittal surrounding a contempt charge involving the contesting a property lien while incarcerated.
As previously reported, Kent Hovind, the founder of Creation Science Evangelism out of Pensacola, Florida, had been fighting charges of mail fraud and contempt for fighting liens against ministry property that had been seized by the government several years ago. A jury deadlocked on three of the four charges in March, but he was convicted of contempt, for which he was supposed to have been sentenced in June. That conviction is now no more.
