Longtime researcher George Barna implored conservatives at the Values Voter Summit on Friday to join the fight in the culture war, even though he was sharing worrisome data on the family, culture and government.

“Do not give up hope,” Barna said toward the end of a 30-minute presentation at the Values Voter Summit, causing a stir and drawing nervous laughter from the gathering of conservatives at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.
Barna’s comment caused the stir at the “Portrait of America” luncheon because he had just presented dozens of slides showing American voters have no faith in government; more prefer to cohabitate instead of get married; and few Americans say they hold a biblical worldview, among other troublesome trends.
Barna said there are three foundations – family, church, and government – and said of them, “All three legs are cracked if not broken.”
