Does the name Harold Clayton Urey ring a bell? Urey was an American physical chemist who did pioneering work on isotopes, earning him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering deuterium. He also played a significant role in the development of the atom bomb. Still no bell? Well, perhaps you’ll recognize his name if I mention the Miller-Urey experiment, conducted in 1952.
