A new film examining the archaeological evidence for the Bible’s Exodus event has received such raves from audience members that the one-night-only showing of the film on Jan. 19 has been extended to a second, encore showing on Jan. 29.
“The evidence is so compelling, it’s fantastic!” said one theatergoer highlighted by the producers of “Patterns of Evidence: Exodus.”
“This is a must see to drive your faith up a notch,” said another.
“This is a high-level, quality work that is going to stand up to the most rigorous intellectual scrutiny,” said yet a third, “but it’s also a very emotional story that’s going to touch people’s hearts.”
As WND reported, “Patterns of Evidence: Exodus” is the culmination of filmmaker Timothy Mahoney’s 12-year search for the truth after scholars in Egypt told him there was “no evidence” for God’s deliverance of the Israelites from slavery, events described in the Bible’s book of Exodus.
“It’s important that [Exodus] has a historical grounding to it,” Mahoney told WND. “If this history isn’t true, if it’s just an allegory, it’s a house of cards. The rest of the stories in Bible are built on these stories. Even Jesus talks about Moses, the apostle Paul, they reference it. If you don’t have a historical Exodus, then what happens to a historical Jesus? It’s all connected.
“What we’re having right now is people who are aggressively saying these are fairy tales,” Mahoney said. “The question I raise is, ‘Are they really? How do we know? Why are you saying that?’ When I went and investigated for the last 12 years with my team, we found, wait a minute – there is evidence for this story. … There are patterns of archaeological evidence that fit this story of Exodus like a hand in a glove.”
“Patterns of Evidence: Exodus” was first shown at hundreds of theaters around the U.S. in a special, one-night-only appearance through Fathom Events on Monday, Jan. 19.
But now, the film will be returning to theaters for a second, one-night-only appearance on Thursday, Jan. 29.
The encore will also include the taped panel discussion, moderated by Gretchen Carlson, host of Fox News Channel’s “The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson,” that appeared live at the film’s first showing. Panel members include author and AnGeL Ministries founder Anne Graham Lotz, best-selling author and TV host Eric Metaxas, New York Archdiocese Father Jonathan Morris and speaker and radio show host Dennis Prager.
