 State and school district bureaucrats in numerous states are now proclaiming that because it is mandatory for public school students to attend kindergarten, it must also be required for children being homeschooled.

Currently, approximately 15 states require first graders in public school to have attended kindergarten, but this compulsory policy might extend further than state-run schools, according to the Home School Legal Defense Association.

“Families in some of these states are experiencing a taste of bureaucratic interference that may be a sign of the times for the rest of the homeschooling community,” HSLDA attorneys warn homeschoolers across the nation.

The freedom to teach their own children the best way they see fit could be swept away from parents as compulsory kindergarten attendance begins to take root across America.
