By Sarah Chaffee On this episode of ID the Future, Discovery Institute Senior Fellow Jay Richards speaks with astrobiologist Guillermo Gonzalez about new research just reported in the Astrophysical Journal. The research suggests that the circumstellar habitable zone for terrestrial planets around stars is narrower than previously thought. This zone around stars, often referred to as the “goldilocks zone,” is where planets are not too hot and not too cold to support liquid water on the surface and, with it, complex life. But there’s another factor, previously underappreciated, which greatly curtails how much further a planet can be situated from [More]

By Christine M. Dionese, L.Ac, MSTOM (NaturalHealth365) For the estimated 24 million plus Americans that pop a daily antacid, this acid-blocking action could spell big trouble for gut health. For example, researchers from the University Medical Center Groningen and Maastricht University Medical Center show that people who regularly consume proton pump inhibitors have an increased risk of intestinal infections. Keep in mind, when your gut health gets diminished … you’re at a greater risk of immune-related health problems like, autoimmune disorders, pneumonia plus many forms of cancer. In addition, many studies have confirmed what we already know – that …read [More]
By Dr. Mercola Eating fast food — the epitome of highly processed “fake” foods — can have lasting ramifications on your brain health, so much so that researchers at Australian National University suggested you can cause “irreversible” damage by the time you reach middle age, just by eating a fast-food diet and not staying active.1 If you are middle-aged and haven’t been eating the best, don’t panic — you can start making healthier changes starting today. However, the new study is eye-opening, once again hitting home the importance of healthy eating when it comes to keeping your mind strong as [More]
By Sarah Chaffee On this episode of ID the Future we hear a neurosurgeon’s view on materialistic bias afflicting the entire field of neuroscience. It’s a bias, he argues, that leads some scientists to misunderstand the meaning of their experiments. Darwinists “allergic to teleology” ignore clear evidence that purpose is essential to the mind. This talk is bonus material accompanying the action-filled and thought provoking series of short videos on science and materialism at www.scienceuprising.com. 07/12/19   The British Social Attitudes survey has revealed that those professing a Christian faith have fallen to a record low, while more than half of Britons profess no faith and the number of those professing adherence to Islam is on the rise. The BSA also revealed that acceptance of gay sex has fallen for the first time since the height of the 1980s AIDS crisis.   Conducted by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), the survey of 2,884 people in 2018 found that there has been a “dramatic decline” in the number of people identifying as a Christian [More]

By Ken Ham Whenever I call atheism a religion, I immediately receive backlash from atheists, who claim they have a “non-belief.” But what’s their non-belief? It’s a belief there is no God and all life (and matter in the universe) is the result of naturalism. So, they have a religion, a worldview, through which they filter everything. And they have beliefs as well: right and wrong are relative; everything evolved by chance through random processes; the universe began with a big bang; and more. And these ideas must be accepted by faith (a blind faith). Actually, it’s a faith that [More]
By AdminM Health Impact News Earlier this year (2019) investigative independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson ran a report on Dr. Andrew Zimmerman, a world-renowned pediatric neurologist whom the U.S. Government used in 2007 to testify in the U.S. Vaccine Court that vaccines did not cause autism. However, Dr. Zimmerman also stated in an affidavit that vaccines can cause autism in a certain subset of children, but that testimony was suppressed. Sharyl Attkisson writes: [O]n Full Measure, we will be running a replay of what I think is the most important vaccine-autism report this year. It tells how the government’s …read more [More]
Price hikes on prescription drugs are surging in 2019, despite vows from lawmakers and the Trump administration to rein in pharmaceutical costs. So far in 2019, more than 3,400 drugs have boosted their prices, a 17% increase compared with the roughly 2,900 drug price increases at the same time in 2018, according to a new analysis by Rx Savings Solutions, a consultant to health plans and employers. The average price hike for those 3,400 drugs stands at 10.5%, or about 5 times the rate of inflation, the study found. About 41 drugs have boosted their prices by more than 100%, [More]
A three-fold jump since 1975 in the percentage of adults worldwide who are obese has been driven mainly by a shift in diet and lack of exercise, but genes do play a role as well, according a large-scale study published Thursday. For people genetically predisposed to a wider girth, these unhealthy lifestyles compounded the problem, resulting in an even higher rate of weight gain, researchers reported in The BMJ, a peer-reviewed medical journal. The standard measure for obesity, the Body-Mass Index (BMI), is calculated on the basis of weight and height. …read more Source: Sott health news feed

Cancer kills an estimated 1,600 Americans each day. In China, 8,100 people a day succumb to the disease. It’s so common, it’s a rare individual who does not know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer – which is why the topic of this interview is so important. Dr. Nasha Winters is a naturopathic physician who specializes in cancer treatment. While she has treated cancer patients in the past, she’s developed a more efficient model where she now focuses on training clinicians and consulting with those treating patients. I’ve been very impressed with her work. She has embraced the ketogenic [More]
The ontology and ecology of food Food is not a commodity, it is not “stuff” put together mechanically and artificially in labs and factories. Food is life. Food holds the contributions of all beings that make the food web, and it holds the potential of maintaining and regenerating the web of life. Food also holds the potential for health and disease, depending on how it was grown and processed. Food is therefore the living currency of the web of life. As an ancient Upanishad reminds us “Everything is food, everything is something else’s food. ” Good Food and Real Food [More]

By Ken Ham The ideology of the secularist movement is driving Western culture—in an anti-biblical direction. Sadly, we see moral relativism permeating society. And when Christians disagree with specific moral issues, they are often accused of hate. But Christians don’t hate those who hold to a different worldview. Actually, it’s a worldview clash between secularists and Christians because they have very different foundations from which they build their worldviews—man’s word or God’s Word. As the name implies, the conference will focus on how to reach our increasingly secularized cultures with the unchanging message of the gospel. Our Western culture is [More]
By Dr. Mercola Popular breakfast foods often marketed and fed to children continue to test positive for residues of glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup herbicide. Glyphosate is the subject of lawsuits filed by more than 13,000 plaintiffs, who allege they developed cancer due to exposure to the ubiquitous chemical in Roundup and other glyphosate-based weed killers.1 A number of cities, counties, states and countries have already moved to ban glyphosate or impose restrictions on its use. This includes Austria, which announced in June 2019 plans to ban the chemical within the year.2 In the U.S., however, use continues unabated [More]

Her diet was packed with whole foods, leafy greens, berries and freshly squeezed juices. She grew her own vegetables and cut out sugar and alcohol. …read more Source: Sott health news feed
People hoping to lose weight with exercise often wind up being their own worst enemies, according to the latest, large-scale study of workouts, weight loss and their frustrating interaction. The study, which carefully tracked how much people ate and moved after starting to exercise, found that many of them failed to lose or even gained weight while exercising, because they also reflexively changed their lives in other, subtle ways. But a few people in the study did drop pounds, and their success could have lessons for the rest of us. In a just and cogent universe, of course, exercise would [More]

By Dr. Mercola Record-setting rains have left Midwest cropland bogged down with so much water that many farmers have been forced to delay planting. Typically, 96% of U.S. corn crops are already planted come June,1 but in 2019 only 67% were planted as of early June — and in some states, like Indiana and Illinois, rates were as low as 31% and 45%, respectively.2 The implications of the deluge of rain, and resulting flooding, spread far beyond the agricultural fields themselves, however. There are 18 major river basins3 in the continental U.S., with the largest belonging to rivers that feed [More]
After studies have confirmed that vitamin A, converted from beta carotene, is very low in genetically modified golden rice, new evidence shows that the rice is also unable to hold the biochemical for long after harvest. Unless preserved in refrigerated condition in vacuum packaging as paddy, golden rice can lose up to 84 per cent of its beta carotene in six months, according to a new Indian government research. The degradation of beta carotene level gets faster with processing and is the highest in polished golden rice, said the research released two months ago in the British journal Food Chemistry. [More]
By Tammie Jones, staff writer (NaturalHealth365) You rely on sunscreen to prevent skin damage, painful burns and to reduce the risk of skin cancer caused by overexposure to the sun. But, most people don’t realize that toxic sunscreen products contain chemicals – which cause more harm than good. And, the sunscreen industry would like you to remain uninformed about the health risks. For example, a study conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) discovered that oxybenzone – the active ingredient in many types of toxic sunscreen – is a hormone disrupter and is linked to …read [More]
Evolutionary theory is based on the faulty assumption that chance random processes can produce highly ordered complex systems, and this theory routinely fails to reveal scientific reality.
