Last year I spent a couple of months working as a physician in a geriatric hospital, i.e. a hospital that specializes in taking care of elderly people. One thing that struck me particularly was the large number of medications each patient was on. I don’t think it would be much of an exaggeration to say that the average patient had ten or more medications that they were taking on a daily basis. This condition, of taking many different medications, is known as polypharmacy. It is a big problem. And a growing problem. In the US, 31% of older adults were

More than 80 percent of 200 patients hospitalized in Spain with COVID-19 had low levels of vitamin D, a new study found. The study, which was published Tuesday in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, found that the majority of patients being treated for COVID-19 at a hospital in the northern city of Santander suffered from a deficiency of vitamin D. Researchers at the University of Cantabria determined that just 82 percent of the 216 patients had inadequate levels — compared to around 47 percent of people in a control group who didn’t have the virus. The vitamin, which

To understand the goals of Operation Warp Speed we must understand Dr. Moncef Slaoui and his connections to Big Pharma and the Gates Foundation. In mid-May, Donald Trump announced he was appointing Dr. Moncef Slaoui, a former executive with vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, to lead Operation Warp Speed, the public-private partnership launched by the Trump administration to rapidly develop and distribute a COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Slaoui was a Professor of Immunology at the University of Mons, Belgium. Slaoui earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Immunology from the University Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical School

By everybodysfit Granola has that healthy but sometimes no-so-healthy make up of ingredients. A basic granola recipe contains the following ingredients: oats, some type of sweetener such as sugar or honey, and some type of crisp made from wheat or rice. Then other add ons might include nuts, dried fruits, or even coconut. The major controversy with granola is that only ¼ cup Is one serving, and most of the time granola is not consumed in this small quantity. Some eat it by the cup as cereal or others drown their acai bowls with the crunch. Well, that one fourth

A participant in the trials of a Covid-19 vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University has died. Seems like kind of a big deal. But the authorities have assured us that, after a “thorough” review, there’s nothing to worry about and the trials are proceding. AstraZeneca said in a statement that it could not comment on individual cases but it “can confirm that all required review processes have been followed… These assessments have not led to any concerns about continuation of the ongoing study.” Very reassuring. As could be expected, there is very little information given about the circumstances

Lockdown is a blunt, indiscriminate policy that forces the poorest and most vulnerable people to bear the brunt of the fight against coronavirus. As an infectious diseases epidemiologist, I believe there has to be a better way. That is why, earlier this month, with two other international scientists, I co-authored a proposal for an alternative approach — one that shields those most at risk while enabling the rest of the population to resume their ordinary lives to some extent. I expected debate and disagreement about our ideas, published as the Great Barrington Declaration. As a scientist, I would welcome that.

Keep praying and let’s believe God for a miracle.” Admin With the unprecedented decision of key battleground states to suddenly stop counting votes on election night, it is apparent that Democrat efforts to steal back the White House are in progress. The counting was paused after it became clear that Trump had built large leads in both Michigan and Pennslyvania and after his voters had already debunked the media’s scam that Joe Biden was going to win in a landslide. Men of science have made abundant mistakes of every kind; their knowledge has improved only because of their gradual abandonment of ancient errors, poor approximations, and premature conclusions. — George Sarton, founder, History of Science Society The message that vaccines are safe and effective made perfect sense to my wife Lisa and me. Last week, US president Donald Trump committed a kind of blasphemy by attacking Anthony Fauci, his pandemic consultant and practically the spokesperson for the White House regarding COVID-19, saying that: “People are tired of hearing Fauci and all these idiots. He’s been here for 500 years. Fauci is a disaster. If I listened to him, we’d have 500,000 deaths.” A remarkable statement of historical dimension, since Trump is the first American head of state to cast doubt on Fauci, who has acted as the virus tsar for no less than six presidencies: Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama and Trump.

Well, the science has now definitely advised, but is anyone following…? At the start of the year, if you asked members of the public “should we implement face masks/lockdowns to fight a particularly nasty strain of flu?”, their answers would generally be along the lines of “of course not” and “I’ll accept the risk”. Today, however, as the calendar flips to November, the results of a highly effective brainwashing campaign are on show, and a-scared-out-of-their-wits majority

Research from Saint Louis University finds that high fat or “ketogenic” diets could completely prevent, or even reverse heart failure caused by a metabolic process. The research team, led by Kyle S. McCommis, Ph.D., assistant professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at SLU, looked at a metabolic process that seems to be turned down in failing human hearts. In an animal model, drastic heart failure in mice was bypassed by switching to high fat or “ketogenic” diets, which could completely prevent, or even reverse the heart failure. …read more Source: Sott health news feed
