By Andrew McDiarmid On today’s ID the Future, host Robert Crowther sits down with writer Andrew McDiarmid to discuss his recent New York Post article, “Word to the Wise: Progressives Forget that Parents are in Charge of Kids’ Education.” The two discuss recent dustups in the news in which parents were told to butt out of the public education of their children. This is profoundly wrongheaded and for a variety of reasons, McDiarmid argues. McDiarmid, a Discovery Institute senior fellow, advocates for greater parental involvement, rather than less, and he and Crowther then apply the principle to the narrower question [More]
By Ken Ham On December 1, 2021, the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments that may overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that declared the US Constitution supposedly protects a woman’s “right” to have an abortion. Breaking News Supreme Court upholds the Texas “Heartbeat Bill,” while allowing suits to move forward against the state. This seems to be a positive sign that the Court is allowing recent pro-life legislation to stand. (Source: The Christian Post) While these powerful arguments were being presented before the justices, apparently a group of pro-death activists stood outside with a banner [More]

By Douglas Axe This ID the Future brings in protein scientist Douglas Axe to discuss his contribution to a new book, The Comprehensive Guide to Science and Faith. Axe and host Casey Luskin discuss Axe’s thinking on the design intuition, the evidence that it’s triggered almost universally in small children when they observe things like dragonflies or fresh-baked cookies, and why he’s convinced that this intuition is a rational one rooted in our true sense of what sorts of things require know-how for their creation. For those who retort “Science!,” Axe has some of that to offer as well. As [More]
By Ken Ham The Answers in Genesis ministry is nearly 28 years old, but I’ve been in full-time creation ministry for over forty years. Much has changed in our world in 40 years, but the message I have taught, and that Answers in Genesis has proclaimed, hasn’t changed—it’s only become more relevant as Western culture continues to base its thinking on man’s word instead of God’s Word. I recently saw three comments on a Facebook post I wrote about our Christmas events that I thought I would share with you. These three individuals shared how the AiG ministry and our [More]
By Ken Ham I recently had the wonderful opportunity of speaking to thousands of high schoolers and college students at Bob Jones University for their STAND conference. The sessions were well attended and enthusiastically received, and thousands of students also received a copy of my new book, Divided Nation. I’m thankful for BJU—they are one of the few Christian institutions that stand with Answers in Genesis on a historical Genesis. <img src="https://assets.answersingenesis.org/img/blogs/ken-ham/2021/12/ken-ham-bju-7.jpg" …read more Source: Ken Ham AIG

By Denyse O’Leary On this ID the Future host Casey Luskin interviews science journalist Denyse O’Leary about her recent essay, “Is Evolutionary Psychology a Legitimate Way to Understand Our Humanity,” which appears in the new Harvest House anthology co-edited by Luskin, The Comprehensive Guide to Science and Faith. O’Leary, a science journalist and co-author of The Spiritual Brain, offers a withering critique of evolutionary psychology and traces its roots, beginning with The Descent of Man (1871), where Charles Darwin attributed various human behaviors to natural and sexual selection. That fed into what became known as social Darwinism, which fell out [More]

By David Boze On this ID The Future from the vault, host David Boze interviews filmmaker Fred Foote, writer and producer of the feature-length drama Alleged, which seeks to tell the real story behind the infamous 1925 Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee, which pitched Darwinian evolution against belief in God. After seeing the 1960 film Inherit the Wind, starring Gene Kelly and Spencer Tracy, Foote did his own research into the trial and discovered that Inherit the Wind was highly misleading on many crucial points, an assessment corroborated by the 1997 Pulitzer-prize winning book about the trial, Summer for the [More]

By Ken Ham Requiring parents to have a “license” to raise their children? It sounds far-fetched, but is it really? A senior contributor to the Federalist recently wrote an article “warning . . . parents that if leftists are not stopped in their agenda, moms and dads soon could need a ‘license’ to raise their own children.” Stella Morabito writes: Licensing of parents might still sound fringy, but it’s an old social engineering dream that dies hard. And they’re busily building the road to get there. Unless there is aggressive and sustained pushback, you can count on the idea invading [More]
By Ken Ham I love the opportunity to meet guests after I speak at the Ark Encounter or the Creation Museum —it’s always very encouraging to hear how AiG has impacted individuals and families. Recently, after speaking in the Answers Center, a young lady with a baby came up to say hello and share a really beautiful story about the generational impact of the Answers in Genesis ministry. The young lady’s name was Genesis (yes, really!). On her phone she showed me a photo of her father and me—and he was holding Genesis as a nine-month-old baby. Now she’s …read [More]
By Casey Luskin Today’s ID the Future spotlights The Comprehensive Guide to Science and Faith. Host Eric Anderson interviews one of the anthology’s co-editors and contributors, geologist Casey Luskin. The two focus on just one of Luskin’s contributed essays, one that addresses two primary questions: Is intelligent design true? And is it worth expending the energy to defend it against powerful opposition? Luskin answers both questions in the affirmative, and explains why he sees the new anthology as a great resource in the cause of intelligent design. Source …read more Source: id the future

By Michael Behe On today’s ID the Future Darwin Devolves author and biologist Michael Behe discusses two recent technical papers that the news media billed as dramatic evidence for evolution. As Behe explains in his conversation with host Eric Anderson, a careful look at the papers themselves shows that both cases involve devolution. That is, the biological forms in question did not evolve novel structures and information; instead they threw away things to achieve a niche advantage. In the first study, in the journal Nature Microbiology, the researchers found that in Africa, where “most rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for falciparum [More]
