By Ken Ham Evolutionists have long believed other supposed “species” of humans were primitive and not quite human. Biblical creationists, because we start with a completely different starting point, have long argued that there’s only one species of humans (but a good deal of variety within this species) and that other human varieties were intelligent and fully human, just like us. We believe this because the Bible clearly teaches all humans are descended from Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3:20, Acts 17:26), and therefore we’re all related: all one race, the human race. And a new discovery confirms what

By Michael Newton Keas On this episode of ID the Future, Andrew McDiarmid interviews science historian and author Michael Keas about Keas’ new ISI book Unbelievable: 7 Myths About the History and Future of Science and Religion. The myth this time is that the Church tortured Galileo for opposing official teachings on the structure of what we now call the solar system. In fact Galileo had found support for heliocentrism but hadn’t proved it scientifically; there were scientists and theologians both against him and for him; and he wasn’t tortured anyway. There’s plenty here for both scientists and theologians to

By Ken Ham Famous American radio broadcaster Paul Harvey is remembered for a radio program that began, “Now, the rest of the story . . . .” In recent times, Americans have been increasingly waking up to the extreme bias of much of the secular media, with an understanding that you just can’t necessarily trust what the media broadcasts or publishes. Of course, we at Answers in Genesis aren’t surprised by this at all, as our ministry, especially our Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, has been misquoted and misrepresented and has seen facts distorted and information deliberately left out by

By Sarah Chaffee On this episode of ID the Future, David Klinghoffer speaks with Dr. Ann Gauger, biologist and Director of Science Communication for Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture, about her recent article “The Transcendental Treasury of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness” at EvolutionNews.org. These abstract concepts don’t derive from the material world, yet we feel impoverished without them; they’re foundations of a life worth living. Materialistic evolutionary explanations for truth, beauty, and goodness fall flat. Some of them even reduce them to mere illusion. It takes a designer who knows truth, beauty, and goodness to explain what we

By Sarah Chaffee On this episode of ID The Future, Andrew McDiarmid talks to Dr. Ann Gauger, a senior research scientist at Biologic Institute and co-author with Dr. Douglas Axe of a new paper recently published in the journal BIO-COMPLEXITY that probes the limits of evolutionary optimization. Gauger explains how she and Axe tested popular hypotheses for protein origins and discovered that while mutation and selection can improve the proficiency of good designs through small adjustments, they seem unable to convert fortuitous selectable activities into good designs. Enjoy the interview, then read the full paper here! Your browser does not

By Ken Ham In the fight to protect freedom of religion and conscience and the free exercise of religion in America, it seems there’s often bad news. So I thought I’d share some good news with you to encourage you that the fight isn’t over yet and to urge you to continue standing and fighting for our freedoms. Here’s the good news: the state of South Carolina has recently allowed faith-based foster care agencies to abide by their religious convictions and purpose and place children with Christian, church-going families only. An Obama-era regulation barred faith-based and federally funded foster care

By Ken Ham The state of New York has been in the news recently for a horrifying reason. Governor Andrew Cuomo has just signed into law what’s euphemistically called the “Reproductive Health Act.” The New York State Senate passed the Reproductive Health Act (RHA) the evening of the anniversary (January 22) of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 that legalized abortion across the US. This act legalized abortion (the murder of children—child sacrifice, I would call it) up until birth for “all factors — physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age—relevant to the wellbeing of the patient.”

By Sarah Chaffee On this episode of ID the Future, Andrew McDiarmid continues his conversation with historian of science Michael Keas about Keas’ new ISI book Unbelievable: 7 Myths About the History and Future of Science and Religion. In chapter 4 of the work Keas explodes the myth that Giordano Bruno was a martyr for science, as science popularizers such as Neil DeGrasse Tyson make him out to be. Bruno was indeed burned at the stake in 1600 for disagreeing with the Church — which Keas heartily agrees was a bad move on the Church’s part. But Bruno was executed

By Michael Newton Keas On this episode of ID the Future, Andrew McDiarmid continues his conversation with science historian Michael Keas on myths of science and religion, based on Keas’ new work from ISI Books, Unbelievable: 7 Myths About the History and Future of Science and Religion. This time they tackle two golden oldies and a kicker: (1) that the West suffered a thousand-year “Dark Ages” after the fall of the Roman Empire, (2) that the Europeans from this period believed in a flat earth, and — the kicker! — that Christianity was responsible for both errors. Keas asks, if

By Ken Ham Here at Answers in Genesis, we have a heart for children—we want to equip the next generation to think biblically, know how to defend the Christian faith, trust the message of the gospel, and understand how to effectively witness to unbelievers. So, we worked hard to produce world-class children’s curriculum and resources. And one of those great resources, our Vacation Bible School (VBS) program, allows you to reach children in your church and your community with the message of biblical authority and the gospel. I want to encourage churches who put on an annual Vacation Bible School,

By Ken Ham January isn’t usually a time we typically think about the resurrection of Christ—we usually do that in the spring, around Easter season. But the resurrection impacts our lives as Christians every single day. It’s Christ’s victory over the grave that gives us as believers a living hope! So, it’s something we should celebrate each and every day. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:14–22: And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain. . . . For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ

By Ken Ham During his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told his followers to use discernment when sharing truth and not “give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs [swine], lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you” (Matthew 7:6 ESV). This means we are to share the gospel but, if and when it becomes obvious the gospel is not welcome and is just being trampled on, we’re to move on and find others who are ready to listen. Some Christians use this as an excuse to avoid engaging with atheists—after all, they’ll

By Ken Ham A recent article by a secular blogger claimed that children who aren’t taught evolution won’t get that spark of interest that propels them to become scientists. Well, at Answers in Genesis we don’t believe that you need to be taught and believe evolution in order to be passionate about discovering more about what God has made. And this certainly bears true throughout history—many of the greatest scientists of all time were Christians who studied nature for God’s glory (and many of them lived at the time of Darwin)! We want more scientists like that, and that’s why

By Ken Ham Fake news, as it’s been dubbed in recent years, has been in the spotlight a lot this week. In an obvious display of their anti-life bias, many major news outlets completely ignored the massive crowd at the annual March for Life, in Washington, DC. Now, one outlet, CNN, condescended to cover the story (on Snapchat), but claimed only “around 1,000 people” showed up to march in defense of the defenseless. But that’s fake news! The secularists in the media just don’t want people to know how much support there is today for children in the womb. Photos

By Ken Ham The abortion giant Planned Parenthood recently released a new billboard campaign in Iowa to normalize the killing—murdering—of unborn children. The first set of billboards shows a picture of a woman and a quote about her experience. One billboard boldly proclaims, “I had an abortion and I’m not apologizing.” Another promotes the lie, “I had an abortion & it was just health care.” Now, true health care doesn’t involve murdering children. A third one claims, “I had an abortion and I’m not ashamed.” One woman who participated in this campaign said, “I joined the #SayAbortion campaign because abortion

By Ken Ham Today marks the third anniversary of our federal court victory over the previous governor of Kentucky and the state itself. The state tried to block the Ark Encounter from receiving a tourism tax rebate (a return of sales tax generated within the actual park itself—money that would not have been available without the attraction’s existence), simply because of the religious/biblical nature of the Ark Encounter’s Christian, biblically historic themed attraction. We’re very thankful that we won the case—it was a decisive victory and a great win for religious freedom in America. By the way, the State of
