The latest results from a major survey show American churches more accepting of homosexuals in the congregation, but the leader of an ex-“gay” group believes that shouldn’t alter the message of scripture. According to the 2012 National Congregations Study, nearly half of churches (48%) permit same-gender couples in long-term relationships as members. That’s up from 38 percent in the same study conducted in 2006-2007. The more recent study also found a little more than one-fourth of congregations (27%) allowed such couples to hold volunteer leadership positions (up from 19% in the earlier study). Regina Griggs, who heads up PFOX (Parents [More]
The video below from 02/03/15 is an update to the message he gave in the video above. Watch both. On Prophetic Perspectives, Rick Joyner shares the troubling dream he had Thursday night 09/18/14 about ISIS’s plans in America and how martial law may save us. Joyner shares what ISIS in America may look like, what that may mean for you and your family, how to prepare, how this crisis can be avoided, how to pray for our national leaders, and how to remain in peace during this troubling time.
Ninety percent of the products we see on grocery store shelves today are loaded with processed and nutrition-less ingredients. The hard truth is that these ingredients are killing us one bite at a time. They are addictive and cunningly sleuth, usually masked by an array of creative but misleading advertising schemes. However, there’s one amazing fact about our health that many of us forget from time to time. The fact is this – we all have 100% control over what we choose to put into our bodies! It’s a simple and empowering fact that we all need reminding of, and [More]
On a quiet, misty Northern California morning, I walked through a lush green forest of ferns scattered beneath tall redwood trees, where I sometimes spotted deer roaming in the distance or a hawk soaring high above. The air was damp from the coastal fog, and I could smell just a hint of the salty ocean. God’s majesty was on full display as I communed with him and delighted in his splendid creation. I continued on my path, speaking to God in my heart. I longed to have a comforting reply–to hear God’s voice. But the woods around me remained quiet. [More]
Oklahoma was my new home now that I was retired from my pastoral work, but as my wife, Ann, and I watched the news one night, I felt more like we were living in Egypt during the time of the 10 plagues. “Another hailstorm,” I groaned when we saw the warning scroll by at the bottom of the television screen. “Oh, no!” Ann said. I looked up sadly, thinking of our roof. Just that afternoon I’d admired it gleaming in the sun. It ought to gleam–it was practically brand new. Our third new roof in four years, in fact. Each [More]
My husband, James, was a drinker. We’d been married 15 years, and every day he wasn’t working he hit the bars as soon as they opened. Beer after beer washed down shot after shot of whiskey. Then he’d come home and scream at me, “You’re nothing!” That particular summer afternoon, James stumbled in and snarled, “Gimme some money.” I didn’t have any. I was terrified he’d start hitting me. Again. Abruptly, James staggered toward me and knocked me over. Then he went out, slamming the screen door behind him. I heard his truck squeal out of our driveway while I [More]
One of the first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant was a five-by-seven-inch picture mounted on a piece of blond wood. The plaque showed a guardian angel guiding two children across a rickety old bridge. My husband and I hung it on the wall in the freshly painted nursery. I often sat in that room daydreaming about motherhood. This was something we’d wanted for so long, and I could hardly believe that after three years of hoping and praying, our wish was finally coming true. Our joy was doubled, literally, after learning I was carrying twins. [More]
Half a century after the Supreme Court ruled to kick prayer and other religious elements out of public schools, many Christian students and teachers are still fighting to freely live out their beliefs in their school settings. Though even the most benign and personally motivated (i.e., not actually school- or state-sponsored) instances often draw lawsuits from those who oppose any religious expressions in the school setting, one tactic to get the Bible back in schools is sweeping the nation. These Texas students—and others across 43 states—are studying the Bible in their public school… legally. Watch this video to see how: [More]
In 1904, Britain’s King Edward VII invited William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, to Buckingham Palace to honor him for his contributions to society. When the king asked Booth to sign his autograph album, he wrote these timeless words: “Some men’s ambition is art. Some men’s ambition is fame. Some men’s ambition is gold. My ambition is the souls of men!” The Apostle Paul was apprehended by this same passion for souls, stating in Rom. 9:2-3: “I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from [More]
I did it all wrong for years. And I was miserable! I’m talking about my attitude and my stinkin’ thinkin’ that was focused on the thought, “What about me?!” And it came out in my behavior: If I didn’t get my way all the time, I tried to control other people through my temper. I honestly didn’t know what my problem was until God spoke to my heart one day and said, “You’re selfish. You’ve studied My Word about spiritual warfare, prosperity, healing, having power and authority as a believer in Christ … but how much time have you studied [More]
“Great story of a Divine healing and a lesson learned.” Admin It was dark inside the chapel, the small generator just able to help two or three light bulbs pierce the darkness. The worship was moving, as Pepe led us on his guitar. A number of locals joined in, but many remained quiet and subdued. I preached a message that seemed to stir people’s hearts, although it was difficult to tell as I was unable to see most of their faces because of the dim light. I concluded my message and said that we would be happy to pray for [More]
The wife of an imprisoned Iranian-American pastor has stated that her husband has been bringing fellow inmates to Christ and that his time in an Iranian prison is “not in vain.” Naghmeh Abedini, wife of Pastor Saeed Abedini, told those gathered at Liberty University on Monday that though imprisoned in the infamous Evin Prison, her husband continues to evangelize. “He’s been asked and tortured to deny his Christian faith and return to Islam and he has not,” said Abedini, who said around 30 inmates have converted to Christianity due to Abedini’s witness. “For me to know that so many of [More]
The president of Hobby Lobby has urged Christians to stand up for religious freedom, insisting that “there are struggles that have never been faced before.” Steve Green, son of the craft shop’s founder David Green, said Christians now face greater adversity from the US government than ever before, Raw Story reports. “There are struggles for religious freedom in America,” he said on a video at an event held by First Baptist Church of Charlotte, North Carolina. “Just a few years ago we never would have imagined we would have filed suit against our own government, the government that we love. “Excellent article regarding the ongoing battle concerning GMO labeling laws. The big companies are pouring millions into efforts to defeat labeling. The article also deals with the smear campaign launched against an anti GMO activist from India.”  Admin Between 2012 and mid-2014, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) successfully blocked GMO labeling legislation in over 30 states, at a price tag of more than $100 million. These funds were received from the 300+ members of the GMA, which include chemical/pesticide, GE seed, and processed food industries. Together, these industries are working in a symbiotic fashion to grow, subsidize, and [More]

“We’ll see more of this as we move deeper into these last days.”  Admin International Christian Concern has warned that Sangh Parivar, an umbrella Hindu nationalist group, is inflicting suffering and looking to cleanse the minority Christian population in India, much like terror group ISIS is doing in Iraq and Syria. The watchdog group said in a press release that the nationalist group and its associate organizations have been directing hate speech toward Christians and leading attacks on pastors and churches in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Believers are reportedly worried that radical Hindu nationalism and persecution of minorities [More]

“I take these surveys with a grain of salt since a lot of people who identify themselves as Christian really aren’t but nonetheless it reflects poorly on the state of the Church in America.” Admin Shocking porn consumption statistics released earlier this month show that an almost identical proportion of Christian men report watching smut each month as their non-Christian counterparts. In a survey undertaken by Proven Men Ministries in collaboration with the Barna Group, it was found that 15 percent of self-identified Christian men view pornography several times each month compared to 14 percent of non-Christian men. Additionally, 3 [More]
I pulled into the hospital parking lot while it was still dark. Four a.m., when the halls were quiet, the lobby was empty, and only a skeleton staff manned the ward. That was how I preferred to see my older brother Marshall. It felt as if there was no one around but just the two of us. Too early for visiting hours, but the nurses wouldn’t stop me. They knew Marshall’s time was short. My brother was always the one who could make me laugh, cheer me up when I was sad. Now, at age 49, he was on a [More]
I didn’t take very good care of myself after my wife died. I slept erratically, ate junk food, cut myself off from friends. One night I flopped into bed, not even bothering to unmake it. I couldn’t believe she was gone after battling a host of medical problems. It should have been me. I stared at the ceiling and thought back to my past–the dark years of my addiction, and the girl who changed everything. I was at my lowest point yet, sitting on the hardwood floor of my one-room apartment in the roughest part of town. I’d spent the [More]
According to the clock on my computer, I had 10 minutes before the kids got in from school. I finished processing one final order and then logged off. Ten years of running a catalog business out of my home had taught me how to put away my work at day’s end and concentrate on other things. It wasn’t always that way. My husband, Herbert, and I started Spencer Associates after our second child was born, so that I could contribute to our income and stay at home with the kids. Despite the encouragement of our friend and business advisor, Bob, [More]

Fenggang Yang is a sociology professor at Purdue University and author of Religion in China: Survival and Revival Under Communist Rule. He believes that “China is destined to become the largest Christian country in the world very soon.” By his calculations, the number of believers in the People’s Republic of China will rise to 160 million by 2025 and 247 million by 2030. If so, the country would be home to more Christians than any nation on earth. When I visited Beijing a few years ago, I was told that the rate of Christian growth is even higher than Professor [More]
Every church and/or organization has a corporate culture with norms, rules and expectations that pressure participants to conform. Some cultures are good and some bad. That being said, there are particular attributes that characterize false religions or become the norm during religious decline in a true faith such as Christianity. For example, “Every religious system in the world is centered upon a temple (or a sacred place) and has rites and ceremonies, has hierarchies and titles distinguishing men from one another, and has holy days and holy celebrations” (quoted from a teaching I heard from Pastor Tommy Moya several weeks [More]
A few days ago, I spent several hours sitting and talking with Cuban Christians. Some of them lead registered, above-ground churches, others lead unregistered churches and others are simply active church members. All of them talked about the suffering they’ve experienced under communism since 1959 when Cuba became a communist nation. Specifically, they were denied jobs, income, government help, schooling, homes and more, simply because they were known as Christians. One man even spent two years in a forced labor camp in the 1960s, when he was 20 years old. But when he got out, within months, he was leading [More]
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. Acts 1:8 Since Abdullah accepted Jesus, his family had tried very hard to change his mind. After all, his father was a respected man in their village and in all of Bangladesh, having built a mosque right next to their property. When talking didn’t convince Abdullah to return to Islam, they resorted to beating him. When beating didn’t work, they called others in to beat him more severely. Nothing worked; Abdullah tenaciously hung on to his faith in Christ. Finally, in exasperation, his mother stopped feeding him, putting [More]
