“Besides the article I’ve included a video where Rabbi Cahn shows how many financial crashes have occurred during the month when the Shemitah falls. Interesting”  Admin Blood moons, plummeting stock markets and a growing Ebola pandemic dominated the headlines this past week. If that’s not enough cause for concern, there’s an army of Islamic terrorists bearing down on the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. None of this should come as a surprise to those who have read “The Mystery of the Shemitah” by Jonathan Cahn, a messianic rabbi and Bible teacher from New Jersey who also authored the best-selling Christian book [More]
“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers” (1 Pet. 4:7). What has happened to our nation? Clearly it is not the nation of my childhood. We are running headlong into death and destruction. Of the 22 civilizations throughout world history that reached the immoral state America is in now, 19 of them collapsed and were wiped out. In 1987 the late Lester Sumrall, in his book I Predict, wrote about six things that would happen in our nation. America would depart from Christianity. America would endorse pagan religions. America would [More]

With 30 states now legalizing same-sex “marriage” — 11 court decisions overturned marriage protection amendments this month alone — many are fearing that Christian wedding vendors may become extinct as quickly as the 20 remaining states that still honor marriage as a union only between one man and one woman. Since Massachusetts became the first state to legalize same-sex marriage a decade ago in 2004, dozens of homosexual couples have sued Christian wedding vendors who have refused to offer their services for ceremonies that go against their biblical beliefs. And the lawsuits — many spurred by homosexual activists and the [More]

God used my recent visit to Enid, Oklahoma, to remind me of a deep spiritual truth. Where will the track lead Like many American towns, Enid is divided by train tracks. I took this photo on a beautiful evening, as I walked near the tracks. What you can’t see in the picture is that the tracks make a sharp left-hand turn ahead, and then they disappear into the trees. From my perspective, this prompted several unanswered questions. What was around the corner? Where will this track end? Is there a bridge ahead, perhaps a railroad crossing, or maybe a railroad [More]

Saturday morning and all I had in the house was a half box of rice. What am I going to do for the rest of the week? I thought as I cooked it up for my three children. On my salary, the last week of the month was always a struggle. This month it seemed impossible. I sent the kids out to play and took a walk on the docks. Tourists strolled past. I dangled my feet in the water and tried to figure out how to make ends meet. Read More  The Miracle of the Fish – Guideposts.
A heavenly stranger saved her life that summer vacation. Few things in my childhood were more fun than getting together with my cousins from Canada. One summer break, when I was about eight years old, we traveled to the “Great White North” to visit my relatives. We decided to take a day hike to Jasper National Park in Alberta to see the glaciers. Our older cousins and my brother Chris and I took off ahead of our parents along a snow-packed trail up into the mountains. We ran a good mile or two up the path. An iced-over lake was [More]
My husband, Don, retired 10 years ago. Soon after, we bought a three-quarter-ton Chevy Silverado and a fully equipped travel trailer, and set off in search of adventure. Our eventual goal was to visit all 48 continental states and Canada. We saw New England and New Mexico, and everything in between. One night, deep in Wisconsin wilderness, I marveled at how safe we always felt, no matter how far from home we roamed. “God’s angels are with us,” I said, and Don nodded, knowing I was right. Once in Colorado, Don wanted to ride a 19th-century train between Durango and [More]
Christians, students of the Bible and others may want to target 2017 for a vacation to Washington, DC. The Museum of the Bible, established by the Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, is now in the beginning stages of construction. Spokesperson Cary Summers tells OneNewsNow that the museum is being designed to be enjoyable for anyone, at any level of understanding. “There is an electronic piece we’ll have when people go around and look at items, and they’ll have this electronic gadget with them that will allow them to go to whatever depth they want to,” he explains. A Christian columnist, cultural analyst and attorney specializing in constitutional law recently shared a story about about how a lesbian’s eyes were opened to the fact that Christians are motivated by love and not hate to share the gospel with homosexuals. Matt Barber, the founder of BarbWire.com, recalled the incident in an article published by Charisma News last Monday. He stated that in 2009, as he was the keynote speaker at a banquet in Chicago for the organization American for Truth About Homosexuality, a number of homosexual protesters stood outside, angered by the event. One woman that was present at [More]
What’s it like when you travel to restricted nations for VOM? That question is one of the most common as I meet people at VOM conferences and as I talk with Christian friends. I hope that in the coming days on the blog you’ll get a little bit of an answer to that question. Recently I had the privilege of visiting northern Iraq in order to interview Christians displaced by the advance of Islamic State fighters and to see first-hand VOM projects that provide aid and help to these Christians. While on the trip I did something I haven’t done [More]
The age old question of “Why suffering?” cannot be adequately answered for anyone facing pain. However, the Bible and the Christian faith are full of the testament that as believers we can do more than just get through suffering, we can actually exploit evil for our benefit. Romans 8:28 says that “We are MORE than conquerors through him who loved us.” This is not an exhaustive list, but below are five ways that you can exploit evil in your own life: Read More  Persecution Blog: Five Ways to Exploit Evil.
“Personally, I walk for cardio/weight loss and do Isometrics for strength. Keeps me in great shape for my age. Power Isometrics by D. Nordmark is a good book on the subject, it can be found on Amazon.”  Admin “Getting in shape” can relate to a lot of things. It can be spiritually, mentally, physically and so on. Getting in shape doesn’t suggest an “ideal” image, but more so a feeling and being healthy in all categories. “A great example of faith and determination.”  Admin Travis Freeman lost his sight at the age of 12 after he developed a severe sinus infection known as cavernous sinus thrombosis (CST). “The doctors told us that, at that time, 70 percent of the people who have what I had died, and I was only the second case in the world where it’s ever just affected the eyes,” Freeman told American Family Radio this week. America’s ticket for divine judgment may have already been signed and sent off to the printer, but there’s still time for God to cancel the order, according to a leading Bible teacher and author. That time could be running short, though, says Jonathan Cahn, a messianic rabbi and author of the New York Times-best seller “The Harbinger” and the newly released sequel “The Mystery of the Shemitah.”mystery_shemitah In the absence of repentance and mass revival, Cahn sees a continuation of catastrophic “shakings” that will gradually break America down, knocking it off its perch as world leader. The latest results from a major survey show American churches more accepting of homosexuals in the congregation, but the leader of an ex-“gay” group believes that shouldn’t alter the message of scripture. According to the 2012 National Congregations Study, nearly half of churches (48%) permit same-gender couples in long-term relationships as members. That’s up from 38 percent in the same study conducted in 2006-2007. The more recent study also found a little more than one-fourth of congregations (27%) allowed such couples to hold volunteer leadership positions (up from 19% in the earlier study). Ninety percent of the products we see on grocery store shelves today are loaded with processed and nutrition-less ingredients. The hard truth is that these ingredients are killing us one bite at a time. They are addictive and cunningly sleuth, usually masked by an array of creative but misleading advertising schemes. However, there’s one amazing fact about our health that many of us forget from time to time. The fact is this – we all have 100% control over what we choose to put into our bodies! It’s a simple and empowering fact that we all need reminding of, and [More]
On a quiet, misty Northern California morning, I walked through a lush green forest of ferns scattered beneath tall redwood trees, where I sometimes spotted deer roaming in the distance or a hawk soaring high above. The air was damp from the coastal fog, and I could smell just a hint of the salty ocean. God’s majesty was on full display as I communed with him and delighted in his splendid creation. I continued on my path, speaking to God in my heart. I longed to have a comforting reply–to hear God’s voice. But the woods around me remained quiet. [More]
Oklahoma was my new home now that I was retired from my pastoral work, but as my wife, Ann, and I watched the news one night, I felt more like we were living in Egypt during the time of the 10 plagues. “Another hailstorm,” I groaned when we saw the warning scroll by at the bottom of the television screen. “Oh, no!” Ann said. I looked up sadly, thinking of our roof. Just that afternoon I’d admired it gleaming in the sun. It ought to gleam–it was practically brand new. Our third new roof in four years, in fact. Each [More]
My husband, James, was a drinker. We’d been married 15 years, and every day he wasn’t working he hit the bars as soon as they opened. Beer after beer washed down shot after shot of whiskey. Then he’d come home and scream at me, “You’re nothing!” That particular summer afternoon, James stumbled in and snarled, “Gimme some money.” I didn’t have any. I was terrified he’d start hitting me. Again. Abruptly, James staggered toward me and knocked me over. Then he went out, slamming the screen door behind him. I heard his truck squeal out of our driveway while I [More]
One of the first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant was a five-by-seven-inch picture mounted on a piece of blond wood. The plaque showed a guardian angel guiding two children across a rickety old bridge. My husband and I hung it on the wall in the freshly painted nursery. I often sat in that room daydreaming about motherhood. This was something we’d wanted for so long, and I could hardly believe that after three years of hoping and praying, our wish was finally coming true. Our joy was doubled, literally, after learning I was carrying twins. [More]
