In a message recorded at a recent VOM conference (www.VOMEvents.com), VOM Radio host Todd Nettleton shares stories of some of the witnesses (Acts 1:8) for Christ that he’s met during 17 years of service with The Voice of the Martyrs. “Food for thought.”  Admin One by one the arrows struck his flesh, and one by one Stanley Albert Dale pulled them out and broke the cane shafts over his knee. The blood flowed from his many wounds and onto the riverbank. The screaming Yali warriors feared that the white man, or duong, was immortal. Already, the Yali in another village had tried to kill Dale. They were frightened by his message, for his followers had burned their traditional idols and places of spirit worship. They had also shot Dale, but the duong had walked away and completely healed. Dale had [More]
“When people stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing – they believe in anything.” That’s what G.K. Chesterton told us, and it’s true. Because so many of us no longer believe in the God of the Bible, we no longer have any standard for truth. Some even dispute whether there is such a thing…
World Missionary Press (WMP) is seeing an increasing hunger for God’s Word in African countries, reflected in requests for their Scripture booklets. “We’re having tremendous feedback from Africa. It seems to be moving across the continent,” says WMP’s Helen Williams. “Right now we have projects going in 10 or 12 different countries in Africa. We have about 20,000,000 booklets on order for different places in Africa.” Read More: Requests for Scripture increase in Africa – Mission Network News
I love reading stories from the great revivalists and evangelists. In fact, I own a number of books that recount wonderful healings and breakthroughs. Many of these are the kind of inspirational stories that make you want to get up and do something incredible for Jesus.   I recently pulled out a little volume called Miracles by the late R.W. Schambach (1926-2012). This book was originally published in the early ’60s and recounts some of his experiences under salvation-healing evangelist A.A. Allen (1911-1970) and when he later launched his own ministry. This is an exciting little book that stirs up a [More]
By Ken Ham Well, the Barna Group recently did a survey of the population of England to better understand the religious beliefs of the English. The results are saddening and eye-opening. According to the report, 57% of people in England identify as Christians, which sounds like a great number, but of this 57% only a shocking 9% are practicing Christians. Forty percent of people do not think or don’t know if Jesus was a real historical person. For those who accept Jesus’ historicity, 30% think He was just a spiritual leader or prophet and 17% think He was just a [More]
Before Patrick Klein leaves on a trip to deliver Bibles into hostile and restricted nations, he asks God to show him His plan for that trip. Sometimes God closes the eyes of customs officials and ushers the Bibles through without incident. Other times God has a different plan: Patrick is stopped and has opportunities to witness to officials trying to confiscate Bibles and hinder the gospel. After meeting with Christians who have faced imprisonment and beatings for God’s Word, Patrick has learned to see either outcome as a part of God’s plan. This week on VOM Radio you’ll hear more [More]
JERUSALEM – I understand why Israel is increasingly hated by the rest of the world. I really do. I understand the growing anti-Semitism in America and around the globe. If you are a Bible-believing Jew or Christian, it’s no mystery. In fact, it is predicted – prophesied. What I don’t get is why some professing Christians…
By Whole Health Journalist Studies show that houses of worship promote ill health. Does yours? A familiar cliché to people in some religious communities is: “You’re so heavenly minded you’re no earthly good”. Perhaps for this article that cliché could be restated as: you’re so spiritually firm for heaven you’re not physically fit for earth. Faith groups may be doing well in the spiritual areas; however, the statistics show that they’re getting failing grades in the health department. The diagnosis Research shows a direct correlation between religion and poor health specifically concerning obesity. According to a Purdue University study, “Sociology [More]
“Inspiration from a Bible verse told her what to do to see her mothers health restored. Great story. You can watch some of her classic silent movies on Youtube like Broken Blossoms.”  Admin In this story from May 1982, the legendary actress shares how a particular Bible verse reminded her that God’s power can push the darkness aside in times of trouble. Ours was a small, close-knit family. Just we three girls—Mother, my sister Dorothy and me. Our world was that of the stage, and then later the movies, silent movies. Our friends were pioneers of the new medium—Mary Pickford, Anita [More]
In this story from 1958, singer and actress Dale Evans shares how faith helped her cope with her career and busy life with husband Roy Rogers and their kids. The front door slammed as Cheryl ran for the high-school bus. “Three children off,” I made a mental note. “Four to go.”   In the bedroom I had finished the first braid in Dodie’s hair and was reaching for the rubber band when a shriek from the bathroom sent me running there. Debbie had cut her lip against the washstand.   I was still dabbing with a wad of cotton when [More]
“If you are a pet lover you’ll find this a touching story.”  Admin God’s love finds us in many inspiring and surprising ways, a lesson I’ve learned again and again, usually when I am at my lowest, when I am grieving but trying to move forward. Because forward is the only option.   This time it was a lesson in trust. In letting go.  I stood on a long narrow path through the woods, the tall grasses of a marsh rising up on both sides, fanned by the autumn breeze. The trees were nearing their peak, kaleidoscopic against a cloudless [More]
Holding Mom’s frail little hand, I watched her as she rested. I was thankful she didn’t seem to be in any pain at the moment. During that season, years ago, as Mom battled colon cancer, we tried to stay positive and look for reasons to be thankful.  Mom and I had been watching lots of “Murder She Wrote” reruns over the past few weeks as I sat next to her hospital bed, but today I needed more than Angela Lansbury could offer. I needed to hear from God. We were weary in our fight, and I desperately needed to hear [More]
A new survey reveals that continuous attempts by Muslims to rewrite history and make false claims about Islam are starting to bear fruit as an increasing number of protestant pastors are starting to call Islam spiritually good. The news comes from a LifeWay Research survey of 1,000 Protestant pastors. Five years ago only nine percent of pastors said there were similarities between Islam and Christianity. However, in the most recent survey the number nearly doubled with 17 percent saying the two religions shared common ground. At first the numbers may not seem problematic, as over 80 percent still agree there [More]
Imagine hefting a suitcase with 80 Bibles inside onto the X-ray machine in Iran. Patrick Klein has carried Bibles into hostile and restricted nations all over the world. He’s been warned many times to STOP. But he continues, answering the call of God to take the Word of God into some of the world’s hardest-to-reach places. He’s seen God close the eyes of customs agents and border guards. And he’s also seen God open the hearts of those most opposed to the Gospel. Listen as Patrick shares stories of the miraculous ways God intervened to allow him and his Vision [More]
“A video of his interview on the Jim Bakker show is at the end of the article.”  Admin Firing back at accusations, which proved incorrect, he had predicted the end of the world, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn appeared on “The Jim Bakker Show” to explain how the 2015 Shemitah actually fit the usual pattern of the seven-year biblical cycle. “The most central dominant template of the Shemitah that is in the book again, again and again is not a date crash (which has happened twice) but is specifically this – a rising stock market, a bull market, which when it comes [More]

On a rooftop in Cairo recently, I sat down with Dick Brogden to learn more about how God is at work in the Middle East. Dick oversees workers in many countries in the region and has unique insights into the miraculous, history-shaping wave of ministry happening there now. Dick has witnessed persecution on many fronts and has helped our persecuted family members stand strong against intense opposition. He noted that workers will continue to be killed for this “glorious thread” of redemption. In the video below, Dick shares that “men and women are coming to Jesus all across the Arab [More]

When you pray, do you have a vague feeling that something is lacking … that there isn’t any power in your prayers? Do you struggle with doubt or fear, or simply lack confidence that God even hears you at all? I used to have feelings like this and would think, “Maybe I didn’t say the right thing, or pray long enough, or my words weren’t eloquent enough.” It was so frustrating because I didn’t want to waste time, wondering if it was doing any good. After I pray, I want to know that God is working and my prayers make [More]

America’s best-known evangelist says the American church should prepare for persecution. In an article in Decision Magazine, Billy Graham warns that the immunity to persecution that Christians in our country have enjoyed over the last few centuries is unusual. Graham says there is no scriptural foundation for a belief that we can forever escape being persecuted for Christ’s sake. In fact, Christ strongly warns his followers that becoming His disciple would not be a popular decision. Christians worldwide will be observing the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church today, 11/01/15, by joining together to intercede for those who daily suffer for their faith in Jesus Christ. “Religious freedom is a fundamental human right,” states a video produced by the World Evangelical Alliance. “In spite of this, religious freedom is fast declining around the world.” Statistics show that 80 percent of global persecution is directed against Christians as over 100 million believers face persecution each day.“In countries like Eritrea, Iran and Sudan, countless Christians languish in prison for their faith,” the organization outlines. “In Pakistan, [More]
Like everyone, I have experienced many answers to prayer. As the axiom goes, “Some were answered ‘yes,’ some ‘no’ and some ‘not now.’” But I have learned that there are some prayers God can’t resist. Some prayers He answers with alacrity. Some prayers seem to spur God to act. Here are seven such prayers: Read More: 7 prayers God will always answer | Guideposts

“It’s sad to see a large percentage of Americans have a profound ignorance about Islam and it’s beliefs.”  Admin A new poll on Islam reveals that Protestant pastors are increasingly polarized about the religion, while an even larger chasm divides them from the American public. In surveying 1,000 Protestant pastors, LifeWay Research found that more than eight out of ten indicate a fundamental difference between Islam and Christianity — findings that are not much different from those revealed five years ago. Scott McConnell, vice president of LifeWay Research, explains that while more than half of the pastors surveyed increasingly say [More]
