At the age of 13, Booth was sent to apprentice as a pawnbroker. His job made him aware of poverty, and the humiliation and degradation poor people suffered. Becoming a Christian as a teenager, Booth studied American preacher Charles G. Finney’s writings on revival and witnessed his faith to others. At age 26, William married Catherine Mumford and together they founded the Christian Mission to minister to the poor, drunk, outcast and wretched on the dirty and dangerous streets of London’s East End slums. They fought to end sex-trafficking and teenage prostitution in England. Catherine Booth said: “I felt as [More]
In an article by ABC News, Russia is being proclaimed as one of the biggest threats to the United State’s cyber security. Eric Mock with SGA recently traveled to Yakutsk, Russia, as part of a new program taking root. “Yakutsk is a city that is known as the coldest city on the planet. [More]

Seeing news images of President Obama doing “the wave” at a baseball game in Cuba, it would be easy to think that this small communist country is now completely free and open to the gospel of Christ. But while President Obama was watching baseball, Pastor Mario Felix Lleonart Barroso was sitting in a police station. Barroso, a Baptist pastor, blogger and friend of VOM, was thrown to the ground, handcuffed and detained at his home (which also serves as his church) just hours before Air Force One landed in Havana.  Jesus rose from the dead. That is certainly the principal belief that propelled the spread of the Christian faith across the Roman Empire, inspiring thousands who persisted in that belief in the face of either a martyr’s death or loss of fortune or even family. Had these early Christians not believed in the resurrection of Jesus, it is almost certain that Christianity would not exist today, because it would never have existed at all. So, why did the early disciples of Jesus Christ believe in His resurrection? Is the resurrection of Jesus historical? When historians attempt to determine what happened [More]
America’s entitlement society has now reached its zenith. For over a half-century, the United States government and its 501c3 corporate churches have indoctrinated several generations of Americans in welfarism–or more commonly known as socialism. When I was a boy growing up, my dad had another name for it: something-for-nothing. And in his lexicon, that term was more than an oxymoron: it represented something that didn’t even exist. To him, there was no such thing as something-for-nothing, even if people acted as if there were–and to desire such a thing was the height of dishonesty and villainy. Oh, and Dad was [More]

A stunning verdict on America has been declared: The nation has rejected its Judeo-Christian roots and is given over to a spirit of sin and rebellion. Millions of Americans sense the change and rightly fear for the future of their country. But few recognize that what is happening is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy in our…

As dinner came to a close, I noticed that my sister had a new ring on her right hand, so I asked about it. Immediately, tears came to her eyes as she began telling me about her beautiful new [More]

The Muslim convert to Christianity who is emerging as one of the world’s leading experts on Islam has issued a chilling warning of the fundamental violence within the faith. Nabeel Qureshi, whose book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus became a New York Times best seller, believes the world is in the midst of an Islamic reformation. This means a return to the religion’s fundamentals, he told Christian Today, and there is no doubt that these fundamentals are explicitly violent. Qureshi told Christian Today: “There is a basis to believe in Jesus. He rose from the dead. You can check that historically. [More]
