Christians are being asked to pray for Bible translators around the world as they are undergoing unprecedented spiritual warfare. A plea for prayer comes from Wycliffe Associates, the international organization known in the advancement of Bible translation. Brent Ropp, vice president of operations for Wycliffe, says the ability to translate the Bible has accelerated in recent years, and so has opposition to the effort. “Satan’s territory has not been invaded at the pace or the rate that its being invaded today by the truth of God’s Word,” Ropp tells OneNewsNow. It once took 20 to 30 years to translate the [More]

In one of the most-listened-to episodes of VOM Radio in 2016, Australian John Short shares the story of his detention in North Korea.   He was repeatedly interrogated. He was forced to write a “confession” of his “crimes,” including the offense of wanting more North Koreans to follow Jesus. But if God called him today, Short says he would happily go back.   Mr. Short shares this week on VOM Radio how God strengthened him during his captivity, the Scriptures and earthly examples that most encouraged him, and how he managed to take a measure of control back from his [More]
“Pastor Tim” leads a church in Malatya, Turkey—a church which almost ten years ago saw three of its members martyred for their faith in Christ. This week we’ll hear how that loss affected the church and how God has moved in Malatya in exciting ways in the past 10 years.   We’ll also hear an update on how one of the martyr’s families continues to serve the Lord in that city—and even to love the murderers. Tim will also update listeners on the overall situation for the church in Turkey, especially in light of recent political upheaval there, and how [More]

“Steve” and “Mai” left behind the American Dream to serve God in Southeast Asia–a place Mai had left decades before as a refugee and said she’d never return to. But God began to call them, and Steve and Mai submitted to His will. It wasn’t easy, especially leaving children and grandchildren in the United States to move to Asia. But as God opened each new door, Steve and Mai said “yes” to His plan. God led them to set up a simple recording studio with used equipment they purchased on eBay. Steve went online and taught himself basic audio editing [More]
Ali Sassi is a Tunisian man who always accepts a challenge. So when a Christian friend challenged him to demonstrate when and how the Bible had been changed (which nearly all Muslims believe has happened), Ali accepted the challenge. He figured he’d read the Bible for an evening and be able to demonstrate the changes. Instead he spent two years reading and studying, and at the end of that time he was convinced that the Bible had not been changed, and that Jesus is the Son of God. His decision to follow Christ was costly as even his own family turned [More]
A Canadian study concludes that churches teaching from a literal interpretation of the Bible experience greater growth rates than those holding to a more culturally accepted, seeker-friendly, liberal translation of the Scriptures. The five-year research project slated to be published next month in the internationally respected and recognized journal, Review of Religious Research, argues against advice that churches switch over to a more progressive theology – such as the Church of England on the matter of same-sex “marriage” – to reverse continued declines in membership. It also suggests that a literal teaching on heaven and hell should not be abandoned [More]
“Great testimony on what God can do if we are obedient to His voice even though we may not understand what His plan is.”  Admin   A United Kingdom mother, June Ross, heard the voice of God and started to feed the poor. She ended up at one of the most famous addresses in the world, Buckingham Palace, for her work feeding the poor. Her ministry, Esther Community Enterprises …
“Some good news!”  Admin   London’s megachurches are thriving and most are growing in size, in spite of overall decline in churchgoing in the UK, because of their “deep and passionate commitment” to living out their relationship with God, a new report has found.   There are fewer than a dozen megachurches in England’s capital but the biggest have more than 2,000 worshippers every Sunday. Some have thousands more than that.   Two Church of England churches, Holy Trinity Brompton, or HTB, and All Souls Langham Place are included in the megachurch report because they have more than 1,000 worshippers. Only a week after a Christian ministry that works in the Middle East reported a miracle – a storm that protected its members and other Christians at a baptismal service from Islamic militants – the organization is announcing plans for more baptismal services. No dates and times are being released for obvious reasons. Bibles For Mideast…
“Excellent article on the spiritual roots of Globalism and what it’s ultimate aim for humanity is. The Bible us tells that eventually there will for a short time be a Satanically ruled one world government that the Lord will destroy at his Second Advent.”  Admin The issues that separate the two candidates in the 2016 presidential election – now just three weeks away – are more than typical Democrat-Republican differences or even liberal-conservative differences. From immigration and trade to abortion and national security, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump seem light years apart, almost like they’re from different political planets. That’s [More]
The ease with which Democratic Party operatives confuse some Christian “rock star” teachers about the issues before America and the world astounds me. The latest visionary to see the Angel of Light through rose colored glasses is Beth Moore, who ministers to women through Bible teaching classes in a variety of churches and is a sought-after…
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” – Matthew 7:15 I’m always reluctant to take on those who claim to follow Jesus. But when those who reach leadership positions – as pastors or self-proclaimed “prophets” – intentionally twist Scripture, including the words of Jesus Himself, then…
If you read the Bible in English, you owe a debt of gratitude to William Tyndale. Today marks the anniversary of Tyndale’s execution at the stake in 1536 for the “crime” of translating the Bible into English. Here is Tyndale’s story, as told in VOM’s book, FOXE: Voices of the Martyrs. William Tyndale was a well-educated scholar who was frustrated at the distance between English education and the Bible, the source of truth. Studying at Oxford and then at Cambridge, he bristled at the barriers and longed for the nourishment his mind and heart treasured. “In the universities,” he said, [More]

“Give Tebow credit for not being bashful to act like a Christian no matter what the situation is.”  Admin   Tim Tebow is being credited with performing a miracle after praying over a man who fell unconscious while having a seizure.   The NFL star-turned-baseball player was signing autographs and greeting fans after playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions on Tuesday when he noticed a man in the front row of the stands – identified as Brandon Berry – who had fallen to the ground and was foaming at the mouth.   According to KNXV, Tebow ran over to him, placed a [More]
According to a poll by ABC News this summer, 83 percent of Americans identify themselves as Christians. According to the U.S. Census, there were 323 million people living in the U.S. But does anyone really believe there are really anywhere near 268 million believers in America today? I don’t. If there were even half that number,…
Which country do you think has the fastest growing Church in the world? China? Russia? Maybe a country in South America?   Here’s a hint: the official name of the country starts with ‘The Islamic Republic’.   Todd Nettleton with The Voice of the Marytrs, USA reveals, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is actually the place in the world where the Church is growing the fastest, something that would be pretty surprising to most Christians.”   The situation is bursting with irony. The Islamic Republic of Iran is listed on Open Doors USA’s World Watch List in the top ten [More]
“Brother Sam” is a gospel worker in the Middle East, where part of his ministry is reaching out with help to refugees displaced by ISIS from Iraq and Syria. The first openly lesbian bishop has begun serving within the United Methodist Church, where a longtime UMC clergyman says feelings are trumping scripture. Earlier this month, the Rev. Karen Oliveto started serving as bishop over the Mountain Sky region, which includes Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and parts of Idaho. She was elected to the post in July. Ray Rooney, who has 30-plus years of experience as a UMC pastor, says UMC leaders reversed thousands of years of biblical teaching when they appointed Oliveto a bishop. “This is circumventing the will of the General Conference through a backdoor approach,” complains Rooney, [More]

It’s the kind of encounter that comes on occasion for Christian missionaries, where they meet up with a “Satan’s slave” as they try to provide help to those with other faiths, or no faith. In this case, it was a 20-year-old Muslim girl from the Middle East who had been having health issues, and when missionaries…
