04/06/19   Over the last 30 years, there has been a mass exodus out of organized religion in the United States. Each year the needle has only moved a little bit, but over the long-term what we have witnessed has been nothing short of a seismic shift. Never before in American history have we seen such dramatic movement away from the Christian faith, and this has enormous implications for the future of our nation. According to a survey that was just released, the percentage of Americans that claim to have “no religion” has increased by 266 percent since 1991…   [More]

03/18/19   Research over the past couple of years reveals that Christianity in Europe is the strongest where it was banned.   “The Iron Curtain that once divided Europe may be long gone, but the continent today is split by stark differences in public attitudes toward religion, minorities and social issues – such as gay marriage and legal abortion,” Pew Research reported from its two-year study. “Compared with Western Europeans, fewer Central and Eastern Europeans would welcome Muslims or Jews into their families or neighborhoods, extend the right of marriage to gay or lesbian couples or broaden the definition of national [More]

For example, a document issued by a subdistrict in Nanyang city in China’s Henan province states that anyone who discovers and reports a group will receive a reward of 200 to 1,000 RMB (about $30 to $150).   Reporting someone for making or spreading images earns a reward of $75 to to $300. 03/06/19   My name is “Prisoner 42.” The name I was born with in North Korea was the first thing they took away from me when I arrived here in this North Korean prison. Every morning at 8 a.m., they call for “42.” To get to them, I have crawl on my elbows through the cat-flap. When I stand up, I must keep my head down. I’m not allowed to look at the guards. Each day begins the same. I put my hands behind my back and follow the guards to the interrogation room. Each day for an hour, they ask the same questions. “Why were [More]
02/17/19   SEOUL, South Korea (AP) – One North Korean defector in Seoul describes her family back home quietly singing Christian hymns every Sunday while someone stood watch for informers. Yet another recalls seeing a fellow prison inmate who’d been severely beaten for refusing to repudiate her religion.   These accounts from interviews with The Associated Press provide a small window into how underground Christians in North Korea struggle to maintain their faith amid persistent crackdowns.   The North’s treatment of Christians could become a [More]

02/16/19   “Times have certainly changed.”  Admin   In 1973, when the Supreme Court created out of the “emanations” of the “penumbra” of the Constitution the right to kill the unborn, the judges weren’t sure when life began.   They should have been.   After all, the editors of Life magazine documented life in the womb in a 1965 cover story featuring a vivid and unforgettable photo display.   “Drama of Life Before Birth” was published eight years before the justices struggled with the concept of life’s beginnings.   The non-profit Liberty Counsel, which regularly defends the life of the unborn in [More]
02/06/19   Bai Yahui*, a sister from Central China, shared how the police had shut down all the house churches in the region, warning pastors not to hold any more meetings.   Area pastors were placed on “probation,” she said, and were told to come to the police station every time they received a police call telling them to report on their movements and activities. Police call frequently at random times, day or night. A new year brings hopes for a fresh start and possibilities—and lines. Long lines. Lines at the “returns” window. In the airport. At the bank. For the bus or subway. In restaurants, grocery stores and traffic jams.   If you’re anything like me, your thoughts in such moments turn to, Not again. Who’s the slowpoke? Why am I always stuck in the slowest line? And other lofty, enriching thoughts.   It doesn’t have to be that way. It’s possible to make standing in line a positive experience. In fact, it’s possible—and so much better—to use that time “on line” (as [More]
Many take the Bible at its word, while others insist on hard evidence, of which there is an abundance. Now, Haaretz reports, yet another event described in the Bible has been supported by physical evidence.   It’s an earthquake that ripped apart Solomon’s Temple in the eighth century B.C.   It was described not only in the Bible but by the historian Josephus.   Haaretz reported: “While earthquakes in the Middle East and Levant are as common as flies, the ancient annals did not tend to mention them – with one glaring exception. The books of Amos, Zechariah and Ezekiel explicitly note an [More]

12/18/18   Netflix’s most talked-about new show this fall is “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” The “Sabrina” of the title is Sabrina Spellman, a half-witch/half-mortal who is about to celebrate her sixteenth birthday. On that day, which is, not coincidentally, October 31, she is expected to undergo what the show calls a “dark baptism,” in which she would pledge loyalty to Satan.   Now before you are tempted to say “Okay, it’s just another stupid TV show,” consider this: According to recent reports, occult ideas and practices are booming in the United States, and not just outside the church.   [More]

12/11/18   Slowly, the five friends make their way to the women’s outhouse they use each day. They look back. No one has followed them. In the stench of the room, they gather in a corner. Saying little, always in muttered whispers, they stand quietly. One woman softly sings. Another leads a short prayer.   Year after year, this is what Christmas looks like for these believers in a North Korean labor camp. Counting the cost, they risk their lives to come together to pray and sing, reflecting on the coming of their Savior—both 2,000 years ago and one future [More]

11/30/18   America is littered with thousands upon thousands of church buildings that aren’t being used anymore. As you will see below, between 6,000 and 10,000 churches are dying in the United States every single year, and that means that more than 100 will die this week alone.   And of course thousands of others are on life support. All over the country this weekend, small handfuls of people will gather in huge buildings which once boasted very large congregations. At one time, America was widely considered to be “a Christian nation”, but that really isn’t true anymore.   [More]
A scientific study aligns with the biblical account of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed by fire and brimstone from the heavens. The book of Genesis tells the story of God sending two angels to save Lot and his family from a city where men demanded to “be intimate” with visiting men, one of the clearest biblical condemnations of homosexuality. In response, God “rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah sulfurous fire … out of heaven.”   It would be hundreds of years before life returned to the region.   And now scientists have found evidence of a cataclysmic event in that area, [More]

“These quotes from notable people show why it is important as a nation we honor God. Unfortunately we have been doing just the opposite and it has resulted in an increasingly divided and chaotic nation. Jesus says in Mark 3:25 if a house is divided against itself it cannot stand, if we continue on our present path how much longer will we as a nation stand.”  Admin   On Nov. 18, 1992, the New York Times printed Mississippi Governor Kirk Fordice’s statement: “The less we emphasize the Christian religion the further we fall into the abyss of poor character and [More]

10/31/18 Many times, Christian persecution comes in waves. In places like Nigeria, Christians are constant targets of multiple Islamic extremist groups, specifically Boko Haram and in the last few years Fulani militant herdsmen. Wherever they go, persecution follows for often internally displaced believers.   This is the case for 100 Christian families who have now been targeted and attacked repeatedly, first by Boko Haram three years ago in the city of Maiduguri. At that time, the families fled the city to a camp for internally displaced people in Nasarawa State. For the past three years since the brutal attack, these [More]
