We often think of our generation as far superior to those who’ve come before us. We seem to have accomplished so much that ancient man seems primitive and less intelligent in comparison. But this simply isn’t true.

A recent study tested a guidebook’s claim that whispers and pin-drops could be heard at the back of the ancient Greek amphitheater of Epidaurus (an outdoor theater still in use today).
