The Apostle Peter links Jesus’ second coming and judgment of the whole world to the historical reality of Noah’s flood.

In 2 Peter 3 he prophesied:
“… in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this “coming” he promised? … But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.”

And Genesis is clear: the words all, every, everything, and entire are used eight times in chapter 7 to describe what was covered or destroyed by the flood. Genesis 7:23 says, “Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out”.

In the same way the Flood was real and global, so too will the second coming of Jesus be real and the whole world will be judged.
