One of the common arguments used against Christianity is that Christianity borrowed heavily from the ancient pagan cult of Mithra. The claims are that ancient Roman God Mithra was called the son of God, was born of a virgin, had disciples, was crucified, rose from the dead on the third day, atoned for the sins of mankind, and returned to heaven. So is it true that Mithraism taught these things and that Christianity simply stole these concepts? Or is it true that Mithraism borrowed from Christianity? HC Felder interviews Allan Di Donato on Mithraism and its relationship with Christianity.
