The Archdiocese of Kansas City has ended it’s relationship with Girl Scouts of America and will instead align with the American Heritage Girls, a “Christ-centered leadership, and development ministry.”   It’s the seventh Catholic diocese or archdiocese to strongly encourage local parishes to support or create American Heritage Girl troops. American Heritage Girl founder and National Executive Director Patti Garibay told CBN News “this is probably the strongest statement” to date.   The Kansas City archdiocese says it studied Girl Scouts, both nationally and internationally for years and spent “hundreds of hours” with Girl Scout representatives, parents and pastors discussing [More]
It already was known that the California official who filed felony charges against two pro-lifers who went undercover to expose Planned Parenthood’s baby body-parts trade received thousands of dollars over the years from Planned Parenthood. But the political influence on the case because crystal clear this week when it took three judges a total of 12 hours to allow one of the defendants who had scheduled to turn herself in to be freed on bond. And then the bond was set at a stunning $75,000. Liberty Counsel lawyers are defending Sandra Merritt in the case. Other lawyers are defending David [More]
A retired college professor confirms what many Americans already believe: universities have abandoned the concept of being a marketplace of ideas. Speaking on American Family Radio earlier this week, Dr. Carol M. Swain said campuses used to be places with opposing views and debates. “Opposing sides came together, people listened, and the person with the best arguments and the best data and ideas would be the most persuasive – and people would leave the debate forum probably thinking differently than when they entered because they would have heard more sides,” said Swain, who had been a professor of political science [More]

By Ken Ham As described in the book of Acts, nothing could stop the early church from sharing the good news of the gospel. Christians were beaten, ostracized, slandered, and even murdered for their refusal to stop proclaiming the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The New Testament emphasizes evangelism to reach the lost with the news that “nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Yet sadly, according to a new study, only 20% of American adults feel they have a [More]

By Julie Fidler Energy drinks have been linked to heart problems in a new study published April 26 in the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAMA). Oh, but it’s not the first time, not by a long shot. A 2013 study showed that energy drinks put an additional strain on the heart, causing it to contract more rapidly than usual. Over time, this can weaken the heart and cause palpitations. A November 2015 study revealed that consuming just 1 energy drink per day puts you at risk of heart attack and stroke because they cause harmful spikes in the [More]
By Martin Hajek Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli are very rich in nutrients, including several carotenoids; vitamins E, C, and K; folate; and minerals. They also are an excellent fiber source. A high consumption of cruciferous vegetables has been linked with a decreased risk of cancer. Broccoli contains elements known as glucosinolates, which are sulfur-containing chemicals. During chewing and digestion, the glucosinolates are broken down to form active composites such as indoles and isothiocyanates. An indole and isothiocyanate (sulforaphane) have been extensively studied for their anticancer effects. Indoles and isothiocyanates hinder the growth of cancer in several organs in rodents, [More]

By Dr. Mercola By Dr. Mercola The world’s largest pork producer, Smithfield Foods, is branching out from ham and bacon toward the business of organ transplantation. The CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation) giant has even created a new bioscience unit for this purpose, in the hopes of growing pig organs that could one day be transplanted into humans.1 In 2013, Smithfield was bought by WH Group (formerly known as Shaunghui), the largest meat processing company in China.2 At $7.1 billion — 30 percent above its estimated market value — it was the largest-ever Chinese buyout of an American company. By Ken Ham The very popular contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns recently visited our Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky. We were thrilled that lead singer Mark Hall along with his wife and kids (who have visited the Ark before) and other band members stopped by to tour the full-size Noah’s Ark. Though they could only visit briefly, they wished they’d had more time to look at everything in detail. After all, there’s so much to see between the Ark itself, the three decks full of exhibits, Emzara’s Kitchen, and the Ararat Ridge Zoo. Hopefully they will be able to come [More]
By Dr. Veronique Desaulniers (NaturalHealth365) In modern times the health benefits of green tea are well documented. Because of this, yerba mate is sometimes called the “green tea of the South America.” This label, of course, has led to some confusion about the origins of the drink. Especially for those who are on a healing journey with breast cancer (or any kind of cancer), it is important to know the facts when it comes to what yerba mate is and what it is not. So, let’s take a closer look … Yerba mate is …read more Read more here: Natural [More]
By Lori Alton, staff writer (NaturalHealth365) Mercury – a neurotoxic heavy metal – is so dangerous that the World Health Organization says there is no safe level for exposure. Yet over 180 million Americans currently have restored teeth, many with dental amalgam fillings – which can contain up 50 percent mercury. Mercury-based, dental fillings have been linked to neurological problems, infertility, birth defects and heart disease. According to natural health experts, you can now add “leaky gut” syndrome – as well as a host of other gastrointestinal diseases – to the ills that can be triggered …read more Read more [More]

By Dena Schmidt, staff writer (NaturalHealth365) The Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, is the most common STD contracted in the United States. In addition, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that just about every sexually active person (male or female) has the virus at some point. But, what most people are NOT told is, HPV resolves on its own without causing complications or the need to ‘modify’ the immunization schedule with more toxic vaccines. On rare occasions, HPV can lead to cervical cancer and cancers of adjacent organs. This was the motive …read more Read more here: [More]

By Jonathan Landsman (NaturalHealth365) The National Institutes of Health report that chronic pain – the most common cause of long-term disability in America – affects more people than heart disease, diabetes and cancer combined. In fact, according to Dr. Gerald H. Smith, dental distortions – which cause a barrage of faulty neurologic input into the nervous system – are an often overlooked cause of chronic pain, and can trigger a variety of miseries, including migraine headaches, back pain, facial pain and even vertigo. An integrated healthcare approach including dental revisions, Dr. Smith maintains, can play an …read more Read more [More]
