Turmeric is a true superfood that with tons of amazing health benefits, while the active ingredient of it-curcumin isn’t easy to be absorbed by your body, it means turmeric had low bioavailability. “Bioavailability refers to the extent to and rate at which the active moiety (drug or metabolite) enters systemic circulation, thereby accessing the site of action.” Explained by the Merck manual.
This character of turmeric has been proven by several studies:
