The head of a messianic Jewish ministry says pandering to Muslims at a KFC restaurant in Great Britain has taken political correctness to an insane degree.

“You would think that they would wake up,” Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, says of the British, especially after British soldier Lee Rigby was hacked to death by two Muslims on a public London street in 2013.

The UK Times reports that a customer at a KFC in St. George’s Retail Park was told that that particular store was designated as a “Halal-only branch” and therefore he could not have a wet hand wipe because they are soaked in alcohol and might offend Muslim customers. Alcohol is forbidden in the Koran.

Markell, Jan (Olive Tree Ministries)”It’s time to wake up and realize that there is nothing you can do to win over the Islamic mind,” Markell insists. “The Islamic mind is so filled from nonsense from their Koran that all you can do is try to take a stance against what these people believe. This is absolute political correctness to an insane degree.”

The website Snopes.com called the KFC story “false” after KFC claimed the incident was a “misunderstanding.” But a British newspaper quoted a KFC spokesperson who defended the action – admitting the man’s story was true due to a “halal trial” at some restaurants.

A similar incident in 2011 at a Halal-only KFC in Australia went viral on the Internet after a Muslim employee was recorded yelling and threatening a customer who asked for bacon.
